Job Description:

As a Business Process Improvement Principal, you will be defining metrics and measures for the analysis & improvement element of the Anglo-American Operating Model including cross-business unit or external performance benchmarks.

Your duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop Anglo American Platinum business process improvement projects portfolio based on the analysis of process performance and Work Management measures (including digital initiatives)
  • Integrate thinking on strategic business improvement programmes and support the development of an innovation- and continuous improvement framework
  • Prioritise and rank business process improvement projects and support the development of implementation plans
  • Ensure that IM systems used for site-wide business process improvement are coordinated from a business unit perspective

This role is at our Johannesburg Corporate Office at a band 5 level reporting to the Head of Business Improvement Projects.

Qualifications:
  • A relevant undergraduate qualification
  • A postgraduate qualification (Masters/Doctoral degree or equivalent) in relevant technical discipline or proven track record of extensive practical experience in a role and context of similar complexity – (advantageous)
  • Certification in Six-Sigma Green/Black Belt/ Lean Certification
  • Certification in the Project Management

Experience:

  • 5 – 10 years technical experience within mining/processing
  • Change management and Project Management experience
  • Knowledge of the Operating Model principles focusing on Feedback, Analyse & Improve
  • Proficiency in practical application of the Operating Model (workflows, configurations, routines)
  • Advanced skills in identifying structuring, allocating, and management of work packages across a portfolio of project activities to effectively support operational teams
