You will be required to install, maintain and repair measurement and control instruments within the Recovery and Sorting Areas of Venetia Mine.

Your role will:

• Adhere to the Safety, Health and Environmental Policies and Procedures.
• Provide an effective and efficient technical support to the production department.
• Ensure that the Control & Instrumentation equipment and systems are maintained and optimized in achieving the desired equipment availability.
• Provide technical expertise with preventative and corrective maintenance on the Radiation Diamond Sorting machines ensuring optimal availability and recovery rates.
• Improve the maintenance tactics ensuring highest possible equipment availability.
• Perform new equipment installations according to C&I installation standards for equipment and machinery to support the Red Area environment.
• Co-ordinate and monitor equipment availability to ensure adherence to production parameters.

Formal qualifications:

• Tertiary National Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Communications field obtained through T3/S4 with 3 years relevant experience.
• National N6 Certificate with relevant Trade Certificate (Instrumentation)

Additional requirements:

• Successfully obtain a Red Ticket (Medical Fitness certificate) to work on a mine.
• Knowledge and experience with Diamond sorting machines would be highly advantageous.
• Knowledge of Siemens S7 PLC and Siemens PCS7 DCS.
• Knowledge and experience of Profibus and Industrial Ethernet networks.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and electricity.

Role-specific knowledge:

• 5 years post trade relevant experience of which at least 3 years should have been in a mining and processing environment.
