Boise State University is a public research university in Boise, Idaho. Founded in 1932 by the Episcopal Church, it became an independent junior college in 1934 and has been awarding baccalaureate and master’s degrees since 1965. It became a public institution in 1969.
A graduate assistantship (GA) is a wonderful opportunity to work with various departments within the College of Business and Economics (COBE), or anywhere on campus while working toward a graduate degree. COBE graduate assistants will work in one or more areas which may include:
- Academic research and support for faculty
- Tutor undergraduate students
- Teach undergraduate classes
- Support for event coordination and/or marketing COBE through the Graduate Business Studies Office
Scholarship Benefits
The GA waives all tuition and fees pays a stipend of approximately $9,400 for the academic year, and requires 20 hours of work per week throughout the semester. Occasionally, GA awards are available during the spring semester only. Contracts are not automatically renewed, but students may apply for a second year.

COBE offers a limited number of GA positions for full-time graduate business students. To be eligible to accept an award, candidates must:
Be fully admitted to their degree program and attend full-time (9-12 graduate credits) during the award.
