How To Check Second Chance Matric Results 2024 Online.
The Department of Basic Education DBE has now released the results for the Matric exam rewrites, also known as the Second Chance Matric Programme.
The 2024 National Senior Certificate (NSC) examinations will conclude on 28 November 2024 and the Minister of Basic Education, Ms Siviwe Gwarube, will announce the outcome of the examinations on 13 January 2025. Results will be released to candidates on 14 January 2025. Some results may not be available because of technical issues.
- Candidates are urged to get their statements of results from the school or centre where they wrote the exams. Candidates’ results will also be available on this website from 6 a.m. on 14 January 2025.
- Result queries should be submitted for investigation within 30 days after the release of results.
- Candidates must ensure that names and identity numbers reflect correctly on their statement of results and report any required corrections to the Department before 21 February 2025.
RE-MARK/RE-CHECK OF EXAM SCRIPT
A candidate may apply at the prescribed fee for the re-mark/re-check of his/her examination scripts. Registration can be done at either the school or district office in the province or online at www.eservices.gov.za (all instructions appear on the reverse side of the Statement of Results).
Closing date for applications: 31 January 2025 for both manual applications and online applications.
Fees for re-marking and re-checking per subject:
Re-mark : R116.00
Re-check : R29.00
Viewing of scripts may only be done after a re-mark or re-check of results. The closing date for applications is 7 days after release of re-mark or re-check results. The fee for viewing is R220.00
Results of remarking will be released from 14 March 2025 and will be available at the school/exam centre where the candidate sat for their 2024 examinations.

Matric Results have been successfully uploaded online, follow the below steps to check your result:
CHECKING RESULTS AT DEPARTMENT OF BASIC EDUCATION WEBSITE:
- Go to the Department of Basic Education Matric Results Portal – https://www.education.gov.za/MatricResults/ExamResults/tabid/175/Default.aspx
- Enter your Matric Examination Number in the required field
- Click on the ‘Search‘ button to access your Matric 2024 Results
- Note: You may need the following to log in: Exam number, Home Language, Your personal details (name, surname, etc.)
GENERAL INFORMATION
- The results reflected on the website education.gov.za are the results of the individual subjects written in the 2024 Senior Certificate midyear examinations, and DO NOT include the results of the National Senior Certificate midyear examinations.
- Only candidates who wrote and are resulted in six or more subject will obtain a result status, otherwise the status will be reflected as “Incomplete”.
- 9999 indicates an incomplete status.
- The Statement of Results will be available at the centres from August 2024.
- Some subject or candidate results may be excluded from the results published on this website, because of technical reasons. Please enquire at centre where you wrote or at your district/provincial office.
- The Department of Basic Education reserves the right to change any of the information published on this website.
