This is to inform the general public that the management of the Central University of Technology (CUT), Free State has announced the official graduation date, gown collection date, fees, programs of the event as well as the list of graduands for the CUT graduation ceremony 2025 academic year.
About Central University of Technology (CUT) Graduation 2025.
Graduation is getting a diploma or academic degree or the ceremony that is sometimes associated with it, in which students become graduates. Before graduation, candidates are referred to as graduands. The date of graduation is often called graduation day.
The graduation ceremony itself is also called commencement, convocation or invocation. Normally, the ceremony and name apply to high school and above (the next ascending levels being Associate’s, Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctorate)
Students who are eligible to graduate will receive official invitations to their graduation ceremonies containing details of their ceremony, how to get a gown, and how to organise for photographs.
Graduands will be issued with graduation gowns at their respective student’s faculty office on the week of graduation. All graduation regalia must be returned in time and those returned after the deadline shall attract a penalty fee.

The following graduate list is a preliminary release. The graduates indicated have been identified as potential graduates.
Notice
Potential graduates whose names are reflected in red, have outstanding documents.
Outstanding documents must be submitted to Academic Structure and Student Enrolment Services.
The names of those graduates who did not submit the outstanding documents will be removed from the list of graduates, and they will not graduate in April 2025.
Your final clearance documentation
The understanding is that as the process unfolds and any of the final clearance documentation from departments/units should be missing, the candidates’ name will be removed. Make sure that all your documentation is in order with the following units/departments:
- Assessment and Graduation
- Student Accounts, Bursaries and Loans
- Academic Structure and Student Enrolment Services
Reason why you might not be on the list If your name does not appear on the list and you have submitted your documentation; check the following subject results:
- English Proficiency PRE1A – Semester 1 and
- English Proficiency PRE2B – Semester 2; or
- English Proficiency PRE10 (year subject alternative to the semester subjects)
It is compulsory to have both semester subjects or alternatively, the year subject. Check your subject result at the faculty/department or the Check your subject result at the faculty/department or the Assessment and Graduation Unit.
Colour Indicators
- Black: your graduate status is pending, and still in process.
- Green: you are confirmed and will graduate.

Students and guests must dress formally. All graduates must wear academic attire. T Birch and Co will be available on campus during the graduation period for students to hire or purchase academic attire from them.
