Offering of the above courses is subject to the number of people enrolling for the course.
The following conditions are applicable to the training
1. Attendees MUST work through the course material before attending the training
2. The above dates are planned dates. We reserve the right to cancel classes should too few attendees enrol into a class. We will notify all enrolled attendees if the schedule has to change at least 2-3 weeks before the start date of the course via the e-mail address through which you contacted us.
3. Enrolment cancellation will only be accepted up to 3 weeks before the start date of a class. Should an attendee cancel his/her enrolment after this date, he/she might still be liable for the full course fees.
4. All enrolments or cancellations should be confirmed via e-mail (dduvenhage@cut.ac.za).
5. Course fees quoted above exclude VAT.
6. Course fees are payable no later than on the start date of the class. We reserve the right to deny access to the class if this condition has not been met and if no alternative arrangements have been made.
7. Should you need a letter of invitation, please e-mail dduvenhage@cut.ac.za and provide the following details: First Name, Surname and course/s that you have enrolled for.
9. To enable us to process the invoices for training costs, please provide the following details: Institution name, Postal Address, Contact details of person responsible for the invoice (First Name, Surname, e-mail, fax number, telephone number).

Photography for Beginners
This short course in photography is aimed at beginners and keen amateurs that wish to gain a better understanding of their equipment and greater creative control. Class sessions consist of theoretical lectures, practical demonstrations with student participation, weekly assignments and constructive critique sessions.
Participants will learn to take better, more technically sound and creatively interesting images and do more with their images once they have been captured. Both black and white and colour digital photography will be covered. This course will be presented by Mr Jano Myburgh, a part time lecturer at the Department of Design and Studio Art, CUT.
The course will be offered over a six-week period with weekly evening classes on Mondays from 18:00 to 21:00 in room 28 of the main art building. Alternatively, weekend sessions will also be available on Saturday mornings from 09:00 -12:00.
You will need to own a digital single lens reflex camera (DSLR) with basic lenses or Prosumer camera (fixed lens camera with full manual control) and a keen interest in photography as well as a USB flash drive with a minimum capacity of 4GB.
Intermediate Photography
This course is for those who already completed the Photography for Beginners short course and have a basic knowledge of digital Photography. This course will be presented by Mr Jano Myburgh, a part time lecturer at the Department of Design and Studio Art, CUT.
The course will be offered over a six-week period with weekly evening classes on Mondays from 18:00 to 21:00 in room 28 of the main art building. You will need to own a digital single lens reflex camera (DSLR) with basic lenses or Prosumer camera (fixed lens camera with full manual control) and a keen interest in photography as well as a USB flash drive with a minimum capacity of 4GB
Graphic Design for beginners
Class sessions consist of theoretical graphic design principles lectures and weekly step-by-step practical assignments which culminate into a final practical assignment that will require the creativity of the participants and the utilization of the skills learnt throughout the course. Many of the more important tools and skills will be covered. By the end of the course, participants will be able to design their own business cards, flyers and logos in Photoshop. This course will be presented by Mrs Christie Bester, a full-time lecturer at the Department of Design and Studio Art, CUT.
The course will be offered over a TWO-WEEK PERIOD with classes on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 17:30 till 20:30 in lab 10 of the Graphic Design building. All materials are included in the course fee.

Certificates
Certificates will be awarded on the completion of each course based on the following three categories:
- Attendance alone (minimum of 70%),
- Successful completion of course (minimum of 70% attendance and successful completion of all projects and assignments)
- Completing the course with distinction
Assessment
Course attendees must adhere to the evaluation criteria and assessment method to be determined by the appointed tutor.
