The Opportunity
Join our SARDI Division within the Department of Primary Industries and Regions as a General Farm Hand at the Loxton research farm. You’ll play a key role in supporting commercial irrigated horticulture and contributing to research projects. This includes applying treatments, collecting samples, and maintaining data records. Your work will help increase productivity, support regional growth, and enhance South Australia’s primary industries.
Key Responsibilities

Perform a variety of practical farming activities typical of commercial irrigated horticulture.

Assist in research projects by applying unique cultural and irrigation practices.

Collect samples and maintain accurate data records.

Operate equipment such as trucks, tractors, spray equipment, forklifts, front-end loaders, RTV utility vehicles, and chainsaws.

Support the Loxton Research Centre’s mission of innovation in horticultural and agronomic production systems.

Relevant experience in farming practices.
