A bursary is a monetary award made by any educational institution or funding authority to individuals or groups. Hillary Construction is a leading Civil Engineering Contractors with expertise in the field of road construction and earthworks. Primary industrial activities include construction, maintenance and rehabilitation of national, provincial and township roads, mass earthmoving, construction of airfields and earth dams as well as township development.
The company has a rating of 9CE by the Construction Industry Development Board with its capacity and performance qualifications and a Grade R1 by the National Council for Construction in Zambia. Hillary Construction clients include South African National Roads Agency (SANRAL), Roads Authority – Windhoek Namibia, Polokwane Municipality, Palabora Mining Company (PMC), De Beers, African Rainbow Minerals, Anglo Platinum, Botswana Government, Impala Platinum, Roads Agency Limpopo (RAL) and Roads Development Agency Zambia among others.
Hillary Construction Bursary Application Details 2022/2023
Hillary Construction offers bursaries for deserving National Diplomas and Degree students of Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying and Surveying. The bursary covers annual registration fees, tuition fees and examination fees, monthly allowance for accommodation, food and traveling expenses and study-related equipment subject to request. After graduation, the student will be required to work equivalent to duration the bursary is granted.
Successful candidates will be offered work exposure for 1 year, during which time sponsorship will be considered.

- South African citizen / permanent resident
- Grade 12 exemption certificate and proof of academic results
- Accepted by accredited South African university/institution
- For University applicants – Minimum symbol C for Maths and Science
- For University of Technology applicants – Minimum symbol D for Maths and Science
- Minimum of 65% aggregate rating
