IHT Hotel School Admission Entry Requirements

IHT Hotel School Admission Requirements | This is the official entry requirement for admission application into the IHT Hotel School programs.

Stu­dents enrolling for the Diploma in Hos­pi­tal­ity Man­age­ment must have suc­cess­fully com­pleted the National Senior Cer­tifi­cate (NSC) as cer­ti­fied by Umalusi (or equivalent).
An achieve­ment rat­ing of 4 (Ade­quate Achieve­ment, 50 – 59 is required in the four sub­jects cho­sen from the 2 — credit NSC sub­jects. Eng­lish Home Lan­guage or Eng­lish First Addi­tional Lan­guage must be one of the sub­jects passed with an achieve­ment rat­ing of 4. Any other recog­nized equiv­a­lent qual­i­fi­ca­tion obtained at NQF Level 4 will also be accepted.
Appli­cants will need to attend an inter­view at our cam­pus and may also be required to write addi­tional pro­fi­ciency tests as part of the admis­sion require­ments for cer­tifi­cate or diploma pro­grams before being accepted. A strong empha­sis is placed on good inter­per­sonal and com­mu­ni­ca­tion skills by a demand­ing hos­pi­tal­ity industry.
To apply, com­plete the appli­ca­tion form and return it to us together with the following:

• A cer­ti­fied copy of the applicant’s ID
• A cer­ti­fied copy of the applicant’s final Grade 11 and most recent Grade 12 results.
• A cer­ti­fied copy of the applicant’s National Senior Cer­tifi­cate, or equiv­a­lent, if applicable.
• A ref­er­ence let­ter from the school /​estab­lish­ment the appli­cant has worked at.

An appli­ca­tion fee is payable on the day of the inter­view and forms part of the total fee
struc­ture of our qualifications.
