You will oversee and monitor the safe and effective use of the equipment, as well as the returning of lamps, self-rescuers and gas monitors.

The focus for this role will be to:

• Allocate, issue and receiving of  lamps, self-rescuers and gas monitors, during a normal shift operation.
• Conduct early shift inspections to ensure all equipment and systems in the lamp room are operational.
• Ensure sufficient stock levels of equipment and instruments are maintained in the lamp room.
• Calibration of gas monitors and ensure that charging racks are clean and operational.
• Oversee the effective repair and maintenance of lamps and equipment.

This role is in the MRM department on a C2 level, reporting to the Senior Lampsroom Supervisor.

You will be required to have: 

• Grade 12 Numeracy and Literacy at NQF Level 4.
• Certified competent as a Lampsman (Lampsman Certificate).
• English literacy is a pre-requisite.
• Computer literacy in Microsoft Office is required.
• Experience in Lamproom Management Systems will be advantageous.
• SAP Overview and Modular training will be advantageous.

Experience required:  

• x1 year experience as a relieving Lampsman in the mining environment.
• Trained in the control and maintenance of lamps.
