Job Descriptions

Provide administrative support in the sourcing of merchandise and suppliers in line with the merchandise strategy and eliminate unnecessary cost, thereby delivering best value to delight our customers. To assist with managing deliveries and ensuring product execution and quality meets required standards.

1. Analysis:
Assist in monitoring and analyzing key metrics across the sourcing value chain in order to measure supplier performance and highlight potential risks to the business.

2. Strategy:
Participate in developing and implementing a short and long-term Sourcing strategy to support the business strategy and merchandise direction.

3. Supplier Management:
Partner with the respective Sourcing Specialist in building strategic supplier relationships and identify new partnerships for long term sustainability. Assist and guide new vendors in order to ensure their understanding of our requirements, policies and procedures.

4. Procurement:
Partner with the Sourcing Specialist in the procurement of merchandise at the optimal total cost of ownership (TCO) without compromising on quality and timelines, through negotiation, volume bundling and fabric optimization. Re-engineer product for lower costs where necessary while still maintaining required standards.

5. Critical Path Management:
Manage the critical path up to handover to forwarder date in order to ensure on time delivery of merchandise and correct product execution. Call-out any potential delivery delays to the Sourcing Specialist and work together on proactive solutions to mitigate impact on the business. Partner with respective merchants in reacting to the trading environment in order to maximize sales.

1. Education:
Grade: 12
Relevant Degree or Diploma (Preferable)

1-2 Years’ experience

Commercial acumen.
