Internship Details
This position is for a Law Intern in Cape Town, Western Cape. The program lasts 12 months, starting on June 1, 2026, and ending on May 31, 2027. Interns receive a monthly stipend of R13,500 to help cover living costs.
Key Responsibilities
Interns handle case management and paralegal work in the Housing Clinic. They do legal research for court cases and advocacy efforts. Other tasks include supporting campaigns, helping with submissions, and running educational programs like Advice Assemblies and Land & Housing School. Interns also create legal education materials, provide admin support, and build ties with courts and community groups.
Minimum Requirements
You need a degree or relevant paralegal training. Strong skills in written and spoken English are a must.
Additional Requirements
Show a clear commitment to social justice and human rights. You should work well alone or in a team, have good people skills, and handle stress. Knowing isiXhosa or Afrikaans is a plus.
Preferred Candidates
