NSFAS Funding 2024/2025… How to check NSFAS application status and Know if NSFAS will fund you in 2024.
The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) provides fully subsidized free higher education and training for poor and working-class South Africans.
Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation Dr Blade Nzimande recently made an announcement in which he gave an update on the year applications. Nzimande said that NSFAS has begun the evaluation of applications and that this is due to be completed by mid-February.
The evaluation stage is when NSFAS verifies all the documents an applicant has submitted during their application.
The Minister says that this stage will be completed in time for students who are registering. Students should be aware that NSFAS will not be accepting late applications to be funded for the academic year.
To check your application status, follow these steps:
- Login on the myNSFAS student portal via this link: https://my.nsfas.org.za/Application/selfservice.jsp
- Enter your username and password, then click SIGN IN!
- Click on Track Funding Progress.
Once you have followed these three easy steps, you will be able to see whether you are funded or not. It may take some time for your application to be successful so please be patient.
