Job Description
Job Advert Summary
Assist the Artisans in all aspects of the general day-to-day civil/building maintenance of the plant, buildings and properties on site as and when required.
Minimum Requirements
• Successful completion of Grade 12 • A completed Bricklaying Trade Certificate and / or completed Bricklaying Training Certificate will serve as an advantage. • 2 years working experience in a bricklaying trade environment. • Ability to do minor bricklaying, plastering and tiling jobs. • Ability to work and perform hard physical labour, working on heights, working in confined spaces, working in awkward positions and working under pressure. • A valid code B driver’s license.
Primary Duties
• General maintenance work, predominantly in the bricklaying trade to buildings and plant but also in all civil / building trades, as and when required. • Collection, preparation, loading, delivery and off-loading of materials to and from place of work as and when required. • Erecting scaffolding, working on elevated platforms, in manholes and chambers as and when required. • Cleaning of tools, equipment, workshop, stores and sites where work was performed. • Safety awareness, store duty, asset control and minor administrative tasks. • Carry out other tasks as delegated by the Supervisor from time to time.
Knowledge
• Knowledge of civil/building maintenance field. • Safety knowledge. • Bricklaying, Tiling & Plastering knowledge.
Skills
• Ability to do minor repairs. • Ability to handle pressure. • Ability to do hard physical labour. • Ability to work on heights. • Ability to work in confined spaces and awkward positions, under preassure. • Communication skills.
