Job Descriptions

Saab Grintek Defence is a business unit operating within South Africa. The business unit focuses on design, development, integration, testing, documenting and deployment of products for aerospace and defence industries. This position is in the ICT department.

Your Role:

• Provide ERP System Support :
  • Ensure that the ERP system is operational
  • Maintaining and updating the database environment
  • Deployments of new developments and reports
• Provide SharePoint Support to users
• Manage IT suppliers and maintain constant communication with suppliers
• Attend to IT related procurement requests for users
• Request quotes from suppliers and make constant follow-ups on delivery
• Ensure correct equipment and components are delivered
• User account Management (termination and maintenance vs Sweden Invoice)
• Printer Support and Maintenance
• Application Infrastructure
• Database Infrastructure ( oversee ETS as the appointed supplier )
• Backups & disaster recovery ( task performed together with Global ICT )
• Database maintenance (oversee ETS as the appointed supplier)
• System availability
• Tracking patching schedules and managing associated risks ( task performed together with Global ICT and ETS )
• Ensure ERP legacy systems (still utilised) health & uptime (coordinate with ICT)
• Maintaining and updating IFS database environments (oversee ETS as the appointed supplier)
• Deployments of new developments and reports ( as and when required by IBP)
• Development code management( as and when required by IBP)
• Application licenses ( as and when required) End User Access and Support ( as and when required)
• Master password management ( as and when required by IBP)
• Development & execution of SQL scripts
• Data migrations & data imports
• Setup and support of data input templates
• Implementation, management & maintenance of system interfaces

Qualification:

• Grade 12 and / or Relevant ICT Degree

Specialist Knowledge:

• Project / Change management skills
• People management
• A self-starter, result-driven and possess the ability to motivate a team to deliver results
• Sound communication / Reporting skills
• Good analytical skills
• Basic knowledge of networking, virtualization, source control and continuous delivery concepts

Practical Experience required:

• At least 2-5 Years’ experience within a similar environment
• Writing scripting for administration, monitoring and automation tasks
• Proficient in English
• Ability to work in an environment that involves remote interaction with other team members, internal customers and users
• Results-oriented and innovation-oriented personality
