Transport Education Training Authority (TETA) Bursary Application Details 2022/2023
TETA collaborates with South Africa’s Department of Transport to ensure that trained professionals can work in the country’s sizable transport industry. Every year, TETA offers hundreds of students access to funding they need to pursue their tertiary studies. Before applying for the bursary, applicants must first satisfy the minimum criteria. Failure to do so will result in their applications getting disregarded:
- Must be a citizen of South Africa.
- Must be between 18 and 35 years of age.
- Must be currently unemployed
- Must have completed Matric or is currently enrolled in Matric (or an equivalent)
- Must be currently studying or intends to study full-time in one of the fields of study mentioned above.
- Must be currently studying or has registered to study at one of the accredited tertiary institutes including HETs, Accredited Aviation Schools or Accredited Diving Schools.
- For applicants of Commercial Pilot Training, must possess a valid Private Pilot License.
- For applicants of Instrument or Instructor’s Rating, must possess a valid Commercial Pilot License.
- Must have a good academic record with an average of at least 50%.
- Students with disabilities or those who come from disadvantaged backgrounds are highly encouraged to send their applications.
- Must not be currently funded by any other sponsor or TETA programme.
- For Commercial Diving students, must be 18 years old and above, can swim, and can fluently read, write, and understand English.
