The University of Glasgow, Small Animal Hospital is seeking to recruit a Veterinary Clinician to join our Out of Hours Emergency Service. Our team provides emergency cover for many local practices, and this role is an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in a wide range of both medical and surgical emergency and critical care cases. We benefit from close relationships with the specialist referral team within the hospital and the newly launched Primary Care Practice.

This role provides the opportunity to investigate and treat cases to a high standard, plus contribute to the clinical training of undergraduate students and interns. Shifts are 7pm-8 am nights, and weekend/public holiday dayshifts (7:30am-8:30pm). This part-time position typically involves one shift every two weeks. While the shift times are set, the days worked can be adjusted to accommodate the preferred candidate.

The successful candidate will hold a veterinary degree registrable with the RCVS and have post-graduate clinical experience as a veterinary surgeon. Emergency experience is ideal, but this role would suit someone with relevant general practice experience.

The School of Biodiversity, One Health and Veterinary Medicine has an excellent international reputation in teaching, clinical services and research and is accredited by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS), the European Association of Establishments of Veterinary Education (EAEVE) and the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA). The award-winning Small Animal Hospital is staffed by a friendly and dynamic multi-disciplinary team of clinicians, residents, interns, RVNs and support staff, allowing us to offer a full range of advanced diagnostic and therapeutic interventions to approximately 17,000 cases a year. We have all the facilities you would expect of a state-of-the-art multi-disciplinary hospital, including in-house MRI, CT, CUSA-ultrasonic aspirator and electrodiagnostic machine.
