The Villioti Fashion Institute seeks serious, responsible and highly motivated students with a passion for fashion. There is no admission formula; every applicant is reviewed individually, according to his or her skill, experience, achievements and potential for growth. While the admission process recognizes the benefits of strong artistic preparation, it also accepts academically accomplished applicants despite limited art or design experience.

Applicants are required to undergo an interview process using a formal admission assessment tool by which we evaluate each student for potential and fit.

BACHELOR OF FASHION ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS

The minimum admission requirement for the Bachelor of Fashion Degree is a National Senior Certificate (NSC) (or its same/similar standard, e.g. Senior Certificate with endorsement)  with a minimum of 30% in English together with an achievement rating of 4 (adequate achievement, i.e. 50% – 59%) or better in four subjects from the designated subject list; Accounting, Agricultural Science, Business Studies, Dramatic Arts, Economics, Engineering Graphics and Design, Geography, History, Consumer Studies, Information Technology, Languages, Life Sciences, Mathematics, Mathematical Literacy, Music, Physical Science, Religion Studies, Visual Arts

To be considered for admission to the fashion course the student will be required to;

Submit proof that they have completed Grade 12 or the equivalent, preferably in the form of:

• A National Senior Certificate (NSC)/National Certificate (Vocational) (NCV) that indicates the candidate has met the minimum requirements for admission to a Degree (D).
• Or a Senior Certificate with higher and/ or standard grade subjects or an equivalent school leaving certificate,

DIPLOMA IN FASHION ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS

Eligibility for admission to the Institute’s 3-year full-time fashion diploma requires a National Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or its same/similar standard – without endorsement – with a minimum of 30% in English, together with an achievement rating of 3 (40-49%) or better in four recognized NSC 20-credit subjects.

To be considered for admission to the Diploma in Fashion the student will be required to;

Submit proof that they have completed Grade 12 or the equivalent, preferably in the form of:

• A National Senior Certificate (NSC)/National Certificate (Vocational) (NCV) that indicates the candidate has met the minimum requirements for admission to a Diploma (D).
• Or a Senior Certificate with higher and/ or standard grade subjects or an equivalent school leaving certificate.

NON-DEGREE PURPOSE ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS

Non-degree purpose courses are available to students who want to pursue an area of academic interest but have no need or desire for a professional degree.

Non-degree programs offer an educational experience for individuals who are looking for resume-building skills or personal enrichment.

Non-degree courses are certified once a student has met all the requirements of the particular course. All the Villioti Fashion Institute courses within our Diploma in Fashion and Bachelor of Fashion programs are available for registration for non-degree purposes.

Please note that rules of progression apply and the entrance requirements are equivalent to the Bachelor of Fashion or Diploma in Fashion full-time programs.
