bursary is a monetary award made by any educational institution or funding authority to individuals or groups. It is usually awarded to enable a student to attend school, university, or college when they might not be able to, otherwise. Some awards are aimed at encouraging specific groups or individuals into the study.

WeThinkCode is a free programming and coding course which aims to solve programmer/developer scarcity in South Africa. Students learn to use coding as a tool to solve problems in a peer-oriented environment as well as use relevant data in order to solve problems. Peer-oriented environment lets students evaluate and review each other’s work in order to provide feedback for improvement. Students will also gain 8-months work-experience during their studies. The institution also provide MICT SETA NQF Level 5 certification.

WeThinkCode Bursary Application Details 2022/2023

WeThinkCode offers programming and coding studies completely free without any previous coding experience requirements as well as Matric being optional. Students are required to study full time 8 – 10 hours due to intensity of the curriculum. Paid internship opportunities are also offered to students so as to provide professional and practical application of skills learned. Upon successful completion of the course, job opportunity may also be offered with one of WeThinkCode’s Corporate Sponsors such as First National Bank, Derivco, Telcom, Rand Merchant Bank, Standard Bank, Investec, Platform 45, UCS Solutions, Britehouse, EOH and many others.   • South African full time students who are 17 – 35 years old
  • Applicants to complete and pass online application

How to Apply and Application Details

There are two steps of online application:

Complete and pass 1st step of application at https://apply.wethinkcode.co.za/users/sign_up. Online application result will be given to applicant within 24 hours after completing the online application process.

Those who passed the online application, will be invited to attend the institution’s 4-week selection Bootcamp. The candidate will be assessed based on programming ability, attitude, resilience and the ability to solve problems.

Top candidates from the Bootcamp will be selected to join WeThinkCode for a full-time two year training course.
