During their fellowship year, fellows make significant contributions to their placement organizations and the communities they serve.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0A GHC fellowship is an exciting opportunity to build skills and gain experience with a high-impact health organization, but it\u2019s also much more than that. It\u2019s a year that will catalyze your personal and professional growth as a leader, placing you within a global and diverse network of bright, young, and committed health equity champions. It is \u2013 we hope \u2013 the beginning of the rest of your career working towards equitable health systems.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Eligibility Requirements<\/p>\n<h5><em><strong>By the start of the fellowship, fellows must:<\/strong><\/em><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>Be 30 years or younger.<\/li>\n<li>Hold a bachelor\u2019s or undergraduate university degree.<\/li>\n<li>Be proficient in English.<\/li>\n<li>Be a citizen or legal permanent resident of Malawi, Rwanda, Uganda, or Zambia.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Benefits<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the intensive leadership development and professional growth that the fellowship offers, the Global Health Corps fellowship includes several benefits:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Monthly living stipend<\/li>\n<li>Professional development funds<\/li>\n<li>Completion award<\/li>\n<li>Housing<\/li>\n<li>Insurance<\/li>\n<li>Travel costs covered to and from GHC training and retreats<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>GHC arranges several logistical details on fellows\u2019 behalf with the expectation that fellows will take ownership of their overall experience.<\/p>\n<p>Living Stipends<\/p>\n<p>GHC fellows receive a living stipend that varies based on location and placement organization. The annual review of stipends takes into consideration the cost of living, comparable fellowship stipends, and local compensation for full-time employees. The living stipend may be paid out in USD or local currency, as determined by the placement organization. Stipend amounts are post-tax in your placement country. For fellows with an international home base, please check your home country\u2019s tax regulation as it may require you to report on total funds received during the fellowship.<\/p>\n<p>The monthly stipend in each country is:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Malawi: $650<\/li>\n<li>Rwanda: $650<\/li>\n<li>Uganda: $550<\/li>\n<li>Zambia: $700<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Award Completion<\/p>\n<p>Fellows who complete the entire fellowship year in good standing and participate in the End of Year Retreat are eligible for the $1500 completion award.<\/p>\n<h5>Participate in bespoke training.<\/h5>\n<p>The fellowship starts with one week of inspiring sessions with thought leaders, bonding with your cohort, and reflections on your role as a next gen global health leader. Trainings, coaching, and mentorship continue year-round!<\/p>\n<h5>Learn as you go.<\/h5>\n<p>You will adapt and innovate as you learn the needs of your placement organization, and work to add value and advance health equity. There will be highs and lows, and new learnings every day.<\/p>\n<h5>Become part of a supportive, dynamic global community.<\/h5>\n<p>GHC fellows and alumni span borders and boundaries of all kinds but form a tight knit network united in the belief that health is a human right.
