Through this approach, eHealth for everyone serves as a solid strategic anchor partner for various stakeholders in the health sector. Beyond our routine internships for students and fresh graduates, eHealth for everyone is introducing the\u00a0<strong>Health Data Analytics (HDA) fellowship for postgraduate students<\/strong>. The goal of this fellowship is to build capacity for HDA and related areas at higher academic and research levels.<\/p>\n<p>This fellowship will inform the next phase of technological innovations\/inventions to improve health data analytics and healthcare delivery in Nigeria. The objectives of the HDA fellowship are to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Build local capacity for research in health data analytics<\/li>\n<li>Support the development of health data platforms<\/li>\n<li>Improve the utilization of health data and data platforms<\/li>\n<li>Use findings to inform Health Information Systems (HIS) policy development<\/li>\n<li>Facilitate the publication of research reports in recognized journals<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To be eligible for this fellowship, the individual must fulfill the following requirements;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must hold an acceptable form of Identification (i.e. an International passport issued by the Nigerian immigration service; Drivers\u2019 license; Voters\u2019 Card, National Identity Number (NIN) card)<\/li>\n<li>Must be a postgraduate student of any accredited University with a valid means of identification<\/li>\n<li>Candidates should hold a Bachelor\u2019s degree of at least a 3.5\/5.0 CGPA (Second class upper honors) for Master\u2019s students, and at least a Merit or its equivalent in Master\u2019s, for PhD students.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Fellows are expected to tailor their research towards improving Nigerian health data and data systems around the following key areas:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Health Governance<\/li>\n<li>Health outcomes<\/li>\n<li>Health financing<\/li>\n<li>Health Workforce<\/li>\n<li>Population and demographics<\/li>\n<li>Health facility service availability and readiness<\/li>\n<li>Drugs and logistics<\/li>\n<li>Service delivery<\/li>\n<li>Health Impact<\/li>\n<li>Health surveillance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The research goals can be pursued using any of the following approaches:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Data Management<\/li>\n<li>Visual Analytics<\/li>\n<li>Data Mining<\/li>\n<li>Data Integration<\/li>\n<li>Multi-source data collation<\/li>\n<li>Advanced analytics<\/li>\n<li>Open data advocacy<\/li>\n<li>Big Data for health<\/li>\n<li>Data demand and use<\/li>\n<li>Statistical modelling of health data<\/li>\n<li>Health Information System interoperability<\/li>\n<li>Geographic Information System (GIS)<\/li>\n<li>Artificial Intelligence<\/li>\n<li>Machine learning<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Fellowship Benefits<\/p>\n<p>The benefits of this fellowship include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Up to \u20a61,000,000.00 (per fellow) for postgraduate research (including research expenses e.g. equipment, data collection etc)<\/li>\n<li>Capacity building in research and health data analytics<\/li>\n<li>Possible job opportunities with eHealth4everyone on completion of the fellowship<\/li>\n<li>Access to a network of individuals with shared interests<\/li>\n<li>Mentorship and support from the administering body. This would translate into the provision of reviews and guidance during the course of their research.<\/li>\n<li>Provision of datasets on request.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>How to Apply<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Carefully complete each section of the<a href=\"https:\/\/ild3knpp.paperform.co\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u00a0HDA fellowship form(s)<\/a>\u00a0and attach the required documents. These include:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<ol>\n<li>Official transcripts from Academic Institution,<\/li>\n<li>Curriculum Vitae (CVs)<\/li>\n<li>Admission letters,<\/li>\n<li>Statement of purpose (maximum of 500 words),<\/li>\n<li>Research proposal\/summary including timelines for execution,<\/li>\n<li>Letter of recommendation from Supervisor, Head of Department or Dean;<\/li>\n<li>A previously published paper, if available. This would be an added advantage.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>A 2-minute video of the applicant explaining their research proposal and motivation, is required.<\/li>\n<li>Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis and awards will be given on a quarterly basis. For the next batch, Form(s) should be submitted on or before 8th January, 2022 by 11:59pm (WAT)<\/li>\n<li>The HDA fellowship committee will carefully review each proposal and make a final decision. If successful, applicants would be notified (within 8 weeks after the application deadline) that they have been selected to receive the research grant.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Successful applicants must officially \u201caccept\u201d the offer via an email within a week.<\/li>\n<li>Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis and awards will be given on a quarterly basis.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Please note: Funds are to be used for the research work\u00a0ONLY. Funds would possibly cover textbooks, equipment, publications, and travels (for data collection activities, etc).
