The AEA Summer Program is a prestigious program that uniquely enables students to prepare for the rigors of graduate studies\u2014particularly at the PhD level\u2014through two months of intensive training in microeconomics, math, econometrics and research methods with leading faculty.<br \/>\nThe AEA Summer Program aims to broaden participation and increase diversity in the economics profession to ensure that more traditionally under-represented views and backgrounds contribute to scholarship in the field. The program runs from\u00a0May 28 \u2013 July 26, 2020.<br \/>\n<strong>Benefits<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Successful, eligible students receive a $3,250 stipend.<\/li>\n<li>Round-trip travel to and from East Lansing, MI is provided.<\/li>\n<li>Room and board on the MSU campus are provided for the program\u2019s duration.<\/li>\n<li>Opportunities to do and present research at the program conference are included.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Eligibility<\/strong><br \/>\nIdeally, applicants would:<\/p>\n<div class=\"12e8abe62ae64b91c0bfbd6c80849a4d\" data-index=\"4\"><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Be enrolled in or be a recent graduate of a degree-granting program at a college\/university in the U.S., Puerto Rico, or other U.S. territory.<\/li>\n<li>Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (on a 4.0 scale).<\/li>\n<li>Have completed at least two years of undergraduate education.<\/li>\n<li>Have a strong interest in pursuing a doctoral degree.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Application<\/strong><br \/>\nThe following are application requirements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>College\/University Fall 2019 transcript(s).<\/li>\n<li>Two (2) letters of recommendation with a minimum of one (1) from faculty.<\/li>\n<li>Two short-essay responses.
