As the largest academic library in Africa, we are also one of the best-endowed with information resources, information technology and expert staff.<\/p>\n

The Unisa Library and Information Services came into being in 1946 when Unisa introduced distance learning as a mode of tuition. The last 50 years have been a period of rapid growth, with the printed book collection now totalling over 2.7 million items.<\/p>\n

We subscribe to an increasing number of electronic information resources including electronic databases, e-journals and e-books These are available to registered Unisa students and staff online 24\/7, regardless of geographical location.<\/p>\n

Unisa Library and Information Services is a signatory of the Berlin Open Access Declaration and seeks to make information resources available without barriers to access. We provide the following open access digital collections:<\/p>\n
