The short courses strengthen the professional capacity and leadership skills of participants, enabling them to contribute more effectively to development in their home countries.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Benefits<\/strong><br \/>\nFor eligible mid-career professionals who receive a short course the following benefits will generally apply:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Australian educational experience<\/li>\n<li>Fully paid tuition fees<\/li>\n<li>Fully paid economy class travel to and from their home country to the course delivery location(s)<\/li>\n<li>Fully paid visa expenses<\/li>\n<li>A contribution to living expenses for the duration of the course<\/li>\n<li>Fully paid accommodation for the duration of the course<\/li>\n<li>Fully paid medical insurance for the duration of the course<\/li>\n<li>Adjustment support for women and people with disabilities, if required<\/li>\n<li>The opportunity to develop and maintain global links with Australians and other Africans<\/li>\n<li>The opportunity to join a prestigious alumni network after the short course<\/li>\n<li>Continued professional development after completing the award.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Eligibility<\/strong><br \/>\nAre you interested in applying for an Australia Awards Short Course? To be considered, you must meet the following requirements:<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Citizens from the following countries are eligible to apply for Australia Awards Short Course:\n<ul>\n<li>Botswana \u2022 Cameroon \u2022 Cote d\u2019Ivoire \u2022 Ethiopia* \u2022 Ghana \u2022 Kenya \u2022 Madagascar \u2022 Malawi \u2022 Mauritius \u2022 Mozambique \u2022 Namibia \u2022 Nigeria \u2022 Rwanda* \u2022 Senegal \u2022 Somalia* \u2022 South Africa \u2022 South Sudan* \u2022 Tanzania \u2022 Uganda \u2022 Zambia \u2022 Zimbabwe<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Your minimum academic qualification is at least a four year bachelor\u2019s degree or equivalent (as indicated in the relevant country\u2019s requirements)<\/li>\n<li>You are a mid-career professional, currently employed in a relevant field and sector<\/li>\n<li>You meet relevant post-graduate work experience requirements (as indicated in the relevant country\u2019s requirements)<\/li>\n<li>You can demonstrate a clear vision of how the knowledge and skills you will gain, through the short course, will be used to drive policy reform and improve practice in your home country<\/li>\n<li>Your English proficiency is sufficient to enable full participation in a training course delivered in English<\/li>\n<li>You meet all the requirements of the Australian Government for the appropriate student visa (subclass 500), for short courses delivered in Australia<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Application<\/strong><br \/>\nSelection for Australia Awards Short Courses is based on the assessment of the application, including the applicant\u2019s personal statements, Reintegration Action Plan and supporting documentation. Australia Awards Short Course applicants are not required to attend an interview as part of the selection process. However, applicants and their employers may be contacted by phone to verify claims made in the application, including questions regarding current employment status.<br \/>\nAustralia Awards Short Courses are delivered by approved training providers, contracted to deliver the specific courses for which applicants are selected.
