All Eligible and Interested app<a href=\"https:\/\/southafricaportal.com\/\">l<\/a>icants may apply online for this opportunity before the application deadline-closing date.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>NOTE:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Don\u2019t forget that the <b>AGCCI<\/b> application is free of charge<\/li>\n<li>Don\u2019t send anyone money for this opportunity.<\/li>\n<li>Beware of Fraudsters!!!!<\/li>\n<li>Subscribe to our notification list with your email to receive the Latest Opportunities Update.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>AGCCI Application Details\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>UN Women Tanzania is launching a call for applications to qualified girls to participate in the first coding camp to be held in Zanzibar \u2013 State University of Zanzibar (SUZA), from February 27 \u2013 March 10, 2025.<\/p>\n<p>The aim is to train and empower a minimum of 2,000 girls aged 17 to 25 across Africa to become computer programmers, creators and designers, putting them on the right track to undertake studies and pursue careers in the information, communication and technology (ICT) sectors. The initiative has two key strategies, namely: coding camps and the integration of ICT, coding and gender into national curricula.<\/p>\n<p>The coding camps are coordinated in close collaboration with the United Republic of Tanzania (Mainland and Zanzibar) through the:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ministry of Community Development, Gender, Women and Special Groups<\/li>\n<li>Ministry of Information, Communication and Information Technology<\/li>\n<li>Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Benefits<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Tanzania team responsible for implementing the African Girls Can CODE initiative will provide the participants selected following a selection process with the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A 10-day training on coding as per the AGCCI manual<\/li>\n<li>Training materials<\/li>\n<li>Stationery<\/li>\n<li>Transport to and from the training venue in Zanzibar<\/li>\n<li>Laptops for use for the duration of and after the training<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Eligibility<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To qualify for the coding camps, applicants should:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Be of Tanzania nationality, female, and between the ages of 15-25 years.<\/li>\n<li>Have an interest in science, technology, mathematics, ICT and related subjects.<\/li>\n<li>Know how to use a computer and have basic knowledge of Computer Science.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Selection Criteria<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To be selected, applicants need to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide written permission from parents or legal guardians (for girls under the age of 18) to attend the coding camp.
