Marc Feitelberg established the South African College of Applied Psychology in Cape Town in 1997. He based it on a similar model to its successful Australian counterpart \u2013 the Australian College of Applied Psychology (ACAP).<\/p>\n
SACAP grew steadily and with the advent of formalised bodies of recognition such as the National Qualifications Framework (NGF), the college achieved accredited as a private higher education institution with the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) and the Council on Higher Education (CHE). This was a critical turning point for SACAP as it could package its modules into various diploma qualifications.<\/p>\n
Another key event occurred when Lance Katz bought the college in 2010. Fuelled by his inspired vision of scope and scale, SACAP is now at the forefront of higher education in Applied Psychology, Management and Leadership in South Africa. The college has over 2 000 (and growing) students and has custom-designed campuses in Cape Town, Durban, Johannesburg and Pretoria and offers training to the world via its Online Campus.<\/p>\n
SACAP\u2019s journey has been \u2013 and continues to be \u2013 one of positive growth.<\/p>\n
SACAP is inspired by a vision of an empowered society, knitted by confident, self-aware individuals in healthy relationship with self, family and community.<\/p>\n
We contributes significantly to the fulfilment of this vision by empowering our students to grow in themselves and to positively impact the lives of others. In this way, SACAP plays a critical and positive role within South African communities and our society at large. Trained practitioners bring positive individual and communal transformation.<\/p>\n
They are, however, in short supply relative to the enormous need. South African society is dislocated with enormous untapped potential which is exactly why SACAP is dedicated to the training and development of knowledgeable, skilled and ethical practitioners through the provision of leading, accredited, high-quality educational programmes and qualifications.<\/p>\n
Academically, our educators are acknowledged as leading professionals in their fields of expertise. Students benefit from the wealth of experience and skill that our educators are able to bring to the teaching and learning environment.<\/p>\n
