The program offers candidates, a chance to pursue a one-year advanced\u00a0bachelor\u2019s\u00a0or master\u2019s degree program or a 2-to-6-month continuing education program within a higher education institution of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation in Belgium.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gy-ncp\">The program is open for nationals of developing countries\u00a0with professional experience looking to further develop their skills in a development-related topic. Application for the program is totally free and ARES (L\u2019Acad\u00e9mie de Recherche et d\u2019Enseignement sup\u00e9rieur)\u00a0<strong>does not charge fees<\/strong>\u00a0at any stage of the application or selection process.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gy-ncp\">Belgium\u00a0is one of the best destinations for studies in the world. The Country has three official languages (Dutch, French, and German) and its capital Brussels is home to both the European Parliament and NATO. This allows students to have many working opportunities within these organizations or other affiliate organizations. Tuition fees are believed to be low compared to other EU countries.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Belgium Government Scholarship Details<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul class=\"gy-details\">\n<li><strong>Host Institutions<\/strong>: Higher education institution of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation,\u00a0Belgium.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Specialized Master\u2019s Programs<\/strong>: Please check the list below.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Number of awards<\/strong>: 200 (about 130 scholarships for the advanced bachelor\u2019s and Master\u2019s programs, 70 for continuing education programs).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Duration<\/strong>: one-year specialized master\u2019s degree program or a 4-to-6-month advanced\u00a0training\u00a0course.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Target group<\/strong>: Open to citizens of the following countries:\u00a0Benin, Bolivia, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cambodia,\u00a0Cameroon, Cuba, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ecuador,\u00a0Ethiopia, Haiti, Indonesia, Kenya, Madagascar, Morocco,\u00a0Mozambique, Nepal, Niger, Peru, Philippines, Republic of Guinea (Conakry), Rwanda, Senegal,\u00a0South Africa, Tanzania, Tunisia, Uganda,\u00a0Vietnam\u00a0and Zimbabwe.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>Belgium Government Scholarship Benefits<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The Belgium Government Scholarship covers the following costs for selected candidates<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Bachelor\u2019s or Master\u2019s scholarship<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>International travel costs: Economy-class travel on an IATA-approved airline, with a maximum of one round-trip ticket per academic year.<\/li>\n<li>Living allowance: Lump sum for the duration of 12 months (+13th month reduced).<\/li>\n<li>Registration fees: At the current rate for DGD scholars.<\/li>\n<li>Insurance fees: Directly paid by ARES.<\/li>\n<li>Exceptional costs related to visa applications: When the amount is greater than 200 \u20ac, actual costs are to be notified.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3><strong>For Continuing Education Scholarship<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>International travel costs: Economy-class travel on an IATA-approved airline, one round-trip ticket.<\/li>\n<li>Living allowance: Lump sum for the course duration.<\/li>\n<li>Indirect mission costs: A lump sum is given once per stay, upon arrival of the scholar.<\/li>\n<li>Insurance fees: Directly paid by ARES.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2><strong>The Belgium Government Scholarship Eligible Programs<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Within the framework of the ARES 2022-2027 cooperation program, three types of training are offered through international training scholarships.\u00a0<strong>Advanced bachelor\u2019s and master\u2019s degrees<\/strong> are inter-institutional training programs organized in one academic year at the end of which an academic degree is awarded.\u00a0<strong>Continuing education programs<\/strong>\u00a0are more practical and of shorter duration (2 to 6 months). Please find the full list above;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Hold a diploma<\/strong>\u00a0comparable to a\n<ul>\n<li>Graduate level degree (300 credits ECTS) from Belgian university studies for advanced masters and continuing education courses (equivalent to Bac+5).<\/li>\n<li>an undergraduate level degree (180 credits ECTS) for advanced\u00a0bachelor\u2019s\u00a0(equivalent to Bac+3).<\/li>\n<li>The candidate must have held the relevant academic degree for a maximum of 20 years at the time of the start of the course. This maximum period is increased by one year by childbirth and\/or adoption.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Possess\u00a0<strong>relevant professional experience<\/strong> in an ARES partner country of at least two years after graduate studies for advanced bachelor, after postgraduate studies for advanced master and continuing education courses.<\/li>\n<li>Complete the application in\u00a0<strong>the language in which the\u00a0training\u00a0is given<\/strong>\u00a0and can attest a good written and spoken knowledge of it. Moreover, knowing a minimum of French allows for good integration into daily life in Belgium.<\/li>\n<li>Apply for only\u00a0<strong>one training course<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<div class=\"gy-notice\">\n<p><strong><u>Note<\/u><\/strong>: Compliance with the admissibility criteria\u00a0<strong>does not guarantee selection<\/strong>\u00a0and eligibility for the course. Applicants\u00a0<strong>should not obtain<\/strong>\u00a0prior admission to one of the French-speaking institutions in Belgium in order to be considered for the ARES scholarship.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Application files will not be considered if they:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>are not completed in their entirety and are not accompanied by the required documents (certified copy of the diploma, etc.). A certified copy is a copy of the document on which it is stated that it is \u201ca true copy of the original\u201d with the stamp and signature of the competent authority (notary, town hall, municipal administration, etc.) ;<\/li>\n<li>do not clearly mention compliance with the admissibility criteria specified above (certified copy of diploma, professional experience, etc.).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"gy-notice\">\n<p><strong><u>Note<\/u><\/strong> : Applying for an ARES scholarship is completely free. ARES does not charge fees at any stage of the application or selection process. You may inform ARES via\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:scholarships-cooperation@ares-ac.be\">scholarships-cooperation@ares-ac.be<\/a>\u00a0of any problems with individuals or companies claiming to represent ARES and\u00a0<strong>request any payment<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h2><strong>How to Apply for the Belgium Government Scholarship<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>To apply for this\u00a0Europe\u00a0scholarship to study in Belgium, applicants must click on the apply button below to create an account on the GIRAF platform and follow instructions to submit their applications. The newly created account will be validated (within a few hours to a few days, don\u2019t create more than one account) by ARES and you will receive a confirmation mail to create a password. If you created a validated account last year, you can reuse that account and if necessary, reset your password.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Once logged into your GIRAF account, you can access the application form via the Competitive calls tab of your GIRAF profile. Please note that\u00a0<u>you must only click once<\/u>\u00a0on the\u00a0<strong>\u201cInternational training application 2024-2025\u201d button<\/strong>. You will then find your form in the My tasks table of the Competitive calls. You will then find your form in the\u00a0<strong>My tasks<\/strong>\u00a0table of the Competitive calls.<\/li>\n<li>You can complete your form several times if you use the \u201c<strong>Save and edit later<\/strong>\u201d option. You will find your form each time in the My Tasks table of the Competitive calls tab in GIRAF.<\/li>\n<li>As soon as you click on\u00a0<strong>\u201cSubmit my application\u201d<\/strong>, your application is sent to ARES and you can no longer modify it. You can still consult it in the My submitted files table.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Required Documents<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>2 letters of recommendation (academic and\/or professional);<\/li>\n<li>Certified copies of the original diplomas;<\/li>\n<li>Certified copies of the original transcripts for all years;<\/li>\n<li>Proof of occupation for the last 5 years;<\/li>\n<li>Certificate of nationality or copy of passport;<\/li>\n<li>Pre-project (for certain courses \u2013 see the admission conditions specific to the courses).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<div class=\"gy-notice\">\n<p><strong><u>Note<\/u><\/strong>\u00a0: All successful and reserved candidates will receive an email at the end of the selection process (June 2024). Unsuccessful candidates will receive an e-mail by the end of June 2024 at the latest.
