UNB Scholarships for High School Students 2024 Application Details<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Last year, 1 in 2 students entering UNB received a scholarship! Our\u00a0scholarship support ranges from $500 to $100,000.<\/p>\n

The entrance scholarship application covers the majority of UNB scholarships available to\u00a0Canadian and\u00a0international<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0high school applicants. Students admitted to an undergraduate degree program full time in the fall are eligible to apply.<\/p>\n

How to apply for scholarships<\/strong><\/h3>\n

  1. Apply for\u00a0admission<\/a><\/li>\n
  2. Once accepted, activate your\u00a0UNB IT Services<\/a><\/li>\n
  3. Sign into\u00a0myUNB<\/a>\u00a0and apply for entrance scholarships\u00a0by March 1.\u00a0<\/strong>Late applications will be accepted until April 30.\u00a0 If funding permits, these applications will be reviewed over the summer.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Schulich Leaders Scholarship – $100,000 to $120,000<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    UNB has proudly been selected as 1 of 20 partner universities to provide the Schulich Leader Scholarship. In the past UNB has provided 2 scholarships each year, one valued at\u00a0$120,000<\/strong>\u00a0for a student studying Engineering and one valued at\u00a0$100,000<\/strong>\u00a0for a student studying in one of the other\u00a0STEM disciplines<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 science, technology or mathematics.<\/p>\n

    You must be nominated by your guidance counsellor by\u00a0Jan. 31, 2024<\/strong>. Every high school in Canada can submit one nomination.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

    Currie Undergraduate Scholarship – $65,000<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    Four students from Atlantic Canada will receive the Currie Undergraduate Scholarship valued at\u00a0$65,000<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    <\/a>Currie Scholars exemplify leadership, academic excellence and have overcome a significant obstacle. Financial need is an important consideration.\u00a0Deadline is March 1<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

    Beaverbrook Scholars Award – $50,000<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    Three New Brunswick students will receive the Beaverbrook Scholars Award valued at\u00a0$50,000<\/strong>. Beaverbrook Scholars must demonstrate academic excellence, leadership qualities, extra-curricular involvement and financial need.\u00a0Deadline is March 1.\u00a0<\/strong><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

    H. Harrison McCain Bursaries\/Scholarships – $16,000<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    The H. Harrison McCain Bursaries\/Scholarships are open to high school students from across Canada and are valued at\u00a0$16,000<\/strong>. Harrison McCain Scholars demonstrate scholastic attainment, leadership, financial need and an initiative in funding their own education.\u00a0Deadline is March 1<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

    Loran Scholars Foundation – up to $100,000<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    UNB is proud to be one of the twenty-five institutions that the\u00a0Loran Scholars Foundation<\/a>\u00a0has partnered with.<\/p>\n

    The Loran Award is a national scholarship valued up to $100,000 over four years, for students who exemplify leadership and strive to make a difference in their local and global communities. Up to 36 awards are given out annually. Each Loran Award consists of a stipend and tuition waiver (up to $10,000), which is renewable for up to four years, plus internship opportunities, mentorship and more.<\/p>\n

    How recipients are selected<\/strong><\/h2>\n

    Scholarships are awarded primarily on your grades (scholarship average<\/a>) with preference given to students who have an 80% scholarship average and above. Some scholarships have additional conditions, such as financial need, extracurricular activities, the high school you attended, etc. This additional scholarship criteria reflects the goals and values of the donor.<\/p>\n
