From the late 1950s to the present day over 20 000 foreign nationals have completed their studies at Czech universities with a scholarship of the Government of the Czech Republic.<\/p>\n<p>Government scholarships for studies at universities in the Czech Republic are governed by a Resolution of the Government of the Czech Republic as part of a joint project pursued by the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/mellowads.com\/15YRP\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports\u00a0<\/a>and<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mzv.cz\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u00a0the Ministry of Foreign Affairs<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>Eligible Countries and Study Programmes<\/h3>\n<p>Scholarships for the academic year 2022\/2023 are offered to the citizens of the following countries:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bosnia and Herzegovina,<\/li>\n<li>Ethiopia,<\/li>\n<li>Georgia,<\/li>\n<li>Cambodia,<\/li>\n<li>Moldova,<\/li>\n<li>Ukraine,<\/li>\n<li>and Zambia.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The scholarships are dedicated solely to promoting the studies of foreign nationals from developing third countries. Neither a citizen of the Czech Republic, nor a citizen of the European Union, nor any other foreign national with a permanent residence permit in the territory of the Czech Republic may, therefore, apply for a scholarship.<\/p>\n<p>These so-called\u00a0<strong>Government Scholarships<\/strong>\u00a0are designed to cover the\u00a0<strong>standard length of study<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>in\u00a0<strong>Follow-up Master study programmes plus a one-year-long preparatory course of the Czech language<\/strong>\u00a0(which is combined with other field-specific training). Government scholarships of this category are awarded to graduates of Bachelor\u2019s degree programmes.\u00a0They can enrol only in study programmes from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.msmt.cz\/file\/53420\/\">selected areas of study<\/a>\u00a0in which\u00a0<strong>instruction is given in the Czech language<\/strong>.\u00a0Depending on the subject area, applicants are normally required to sit entrance examinations at the university concerned.
