If you are successfully enrolled with a University you can apply for a bursary.<\/p>\n
A\u00a0bursary <\/b>is a monetary award made by any educational institution or funding authority to individuals or groups. It is usually awarded to enable a student to attend school, university, or college when they might not be able to, otherwise. Some awards are aimed at encouraging specific groups or individuals into the study.<\/p>\n
Mitchell\u2019s Plain Bursary and Role Model Trust was conceived as a result of Trevor Manuel\u2019s deployment as the MP of African National Congress to serve Mitchell\u2019s Plain constituency in 2009, whereby he interacted with the community leaders regarding the immediate need to focus on education and skills.<\/p>\n
On Youth Day, 16 June 2011, Mitchell\u2019s Plain Bursary and Role Model Trust officially launched at Spine Road High School. And ever since, its mission was to produce a generation of leaders and role models by providing deserving students financial assistance to enter into tertiary education and reach their dreams<\/p>\n
Mitchell\u2019s Plain Bursary Application Details 2022\/2023<\/h2>\n
The Mitchell\u2019s Plain Bursary and Role Model Trust will be awarding bursaries within all fields of study to students studying at tertiary institutions such as the Cape Peninsula University of Technology, University of Cape Town, University of Stellenbosch, University of the Western Cape, and Further Education and Training (FET) colleges.<\/p>\n
The funds will be a maximum amount set by the Trust and will be paid directly to the educational institution at which the bursar is studying. The bursary provides partial financial assistance for registration and tuition fees, thus,\u00a0 applicants are encouraged to also apply for corporate bursaries, government bursaries through NSFAS or publicly funded loans or grants to cover the entire educational expenses.<\/p>\n
Successful applicants are required to reapply for the bursary for their following years of study, in which the decision is solely based upon their academic performance.<\/p>\n
Bursary Requirements and Eligibility<\/h2>\n
In order to qualify for consideration for a bursary from the Mitchell\u2019s Plain Bursary and Role Model Trust, you must:<\/p>\n

Be a Grade 12 learner from one of the 17 high schools in Mitchell\u2019s Plain or be a current recipient of a bursary from the Trust<\/li>\n
Reside in Mitchell\u2019s Plain<\/li>\n
Studying within one of the aforementioned recognized tertiary institutions<\/li>\n
Have a letter of support from your school to apply for the bursary<\/li>\n
Meet the deadline of submissions on 30 November 2022<\/li>\n
Demonstrate strong academic potential<\/li>\n
Be in need of financial assistance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
