Recruitment is happening now and if you are over 18 with grade 12 you could be eligible &#8211; but you have to pass the physical tests first.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>Learner Fire Fighters Application Details 2021<\/h2>\n<p>Learner Fire Fighter positions are available now with the City of Cape Town.\u00a0 The firefighters will be employed by the Fire and Rescue Service department at a basic salary of R163\u00a0948 pa. The reference number for this position is aa 1\/20.<\/p>\n<h2>Requirements:<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Grade 12 qualification (Mathematics and Physical Science preferred)<\/li>\n<li>Age 18 years or older.<\/li>\n<li>Should not suffer from fear of confined spaces or heights.<\/li>\n<li>Must be medically and physically fit.<\/li>\n<li>Should be able to work in a team and cope with stressful situations.<\/li>\n<li>No Criminal Record<\/li>\n<li>Successful candidates must be available to start training on 1 June 2020.<\/li>\n<li>Complete the Firefighter 1, Firefighter 2, Hazmat Awareness, Hazmat Operations and First Aid Level 3 courses presented by the learning institution.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Candidates need to pass a Fire and Rescue standard physical assessment comprising of the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Practical assessment &#8211; Reach Test, 2.4km run, push-ups, sit-ups and dead load carry. Depending on the gender of the candidate the assessment may be adjusted.<\/li>\n<li>Acrophobia and Claustrophobia tests.<\/li>\n<li>Candidates must also pass a written assessment (Mathematics and comprehension), interview, medical evaluation and substance abuse test before appointment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Special Conditions Attached To The Post:<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Non-permanent contract position for the duration of training.<\/li>\n<li>Candidates will only be appointed to permanent Learner Fire Fighter position on the successful completion of the prescribed training program.<\/li>\n<li>Required to wear a uniform and protective clothing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>HOW TO APPLY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To apply you must report in person to 53 Berkley Road, Ndabeni\u00a0(old abattoir premises) Cape Town.
