{"id":47136,"date":"2022-01-02T14:48:15","date_gmt":"2022-01-02T14:48:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/southafricaportal.com\/?p=47136"},"modified":"2022-01-28T11:32:36","modified_gmt":"2022-01-28T11:32:36","slug":"young-african-leaders-initiative-yali-opportunity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/southafricaportal.com\/young-african-leaders-initiative-yali-opportunity\/","title":{"rendered":"Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) Opportunity 2022 | How to Apply"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) Opportunity 2022 | How to apply, requirements, eligibility, and application closing date 2022-2023.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> The Young African Leaders Initiative Regional Leadership Center Southern Africa (YALI RLC-SA) and the Trevor Noah Foundation have partnered to invest in a new generation of young African champions for education quality.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) Opportunity Application Details 2022<\/h2>\n<p>( 10 February \u2013 06 March 2020)<\/p>\n<p><u>Programme implementation will be completed in two phases:<\/u><\/p>\n<p>1) four weeks of intensive classroom training focused on foundational leadership skills and the application of business and public institution management tools for the education sector and<\/p>\n<p>2) six months of post-graduation coaching and mentoring. The programme will also include site visits and live case studies using highly interactive methodologies.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI)\u00a0is a signature effort to invest in the next generation of African leaders, hosted by the University of South Africa at the Graduate School of Business Leadership in Midrand, South Africa.<\/p>\n<p>The Trevor Noah Foundation\u00a0is a non-profit organization that equips underserved youth with the educational foundation and opportunity to become resilient future leaders of South Africa.<\/p>\n<p><u>Applicants must meet the following criteria:<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Young leaders, ages (18-35)<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated commitment to positively impact their communities, countries and the African continent<\/li>\n<li>Involvement and\/or experience in the Education sector<\/li>\n<li>Nationals of Angola, Botswana, Comoros, Lesotho, Malawi, Madagascar, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Seychelles, South Africa, Eswatini, Zambia and Zimbabwe.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to commit to a four-week residential training program<\/li>\n<li>English language proficiency<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>HOW TO APPLY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><u>The programme encourages applications from:<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Young African Leaders in the education sector i.e. principals, teachers, education enterprises or nonprofits, and policymakers<\/li>\n<li>Rural based and economically disadvantaged young leaders<\/li>\n<li>Young leaders with disabilities<\/li>\n<li>People who are HIV positive or living with AIDS<\/li>\n<li>Individuals that represent and advocate for the rights of LGBTI communities across the region<\/li>\n<li>Other minority groups<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There is no fee to apply for or participate in the programme. Successful applicants will be provided round-trip transportation to the program, lodging, meals, and course materials. All other costs will be at the participant&#8217;s expense.<\/p>\n<p>The training is residential and requires a commitment to attend all sessions in person at the Regional Leadership Center.
