The learnership is for 12 months and consists of both theoretical and practical training.<\/p>\n<p><b><i>Depending on which learnership you choose, you will gain work experience and a nationally recognized qualification in one of the following:<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bookkeeping (Gauteng only).<\/li>\n<li>Business Administration<\/li>\n<li>Freight Forwarding<\/li>\n<li>Freight Handling<\/li>\n<li>Information Technology<\/li>\n<li>Project Management (Gauteng only)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Requirements<\/h2>\n<p>There are certain requirements for being accepted into these learnerships:<\/p>\n<h4>Minimum Requirements<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>You must be a South African citizen<\/li>\n<li>Applicants must have a Standard 10\/Grade 12 Certificate; or<\/li>\n<li>You must be able to communicate professionally in English (written and verbal)<\/li>\n<li>All applicants must be able to work in a team as well as individually<\/li>\n<li>You must be able to work accurately and with attention to detail<\/li>\n<li>Candidates must have the ability to grasp and process new information<\/li>\n<li>You must be able to work without supervision.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Other Requirements<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>You must be punctual for work<\/li>\n<li>All candidates must be able and willing to commit to a 12-month, full-time contract<\/li>\n<li>You must be experienced in using MS Office and Outlook (Internet and E-Mail).<\/li>\n<li>Applicants must have some knowledge of the basic products and services offered by a logistics\/distribution company<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Successful candidates will be entered into a 12-month, full-time learnership contract. This means that classroom studies at a college or training center are combined with practical on-the-job experience. This means that what you learn on leadership is not just for the particular job that you can get once you have finished the leadership; it also forms part of a higher qualification that you can study further through other Learnership or short courses.<\/p>\n<p>Each leadership has a specific level of qualification. An artisan like a bricklayer or a beautician, for instance, is a Level 4 Qualification. This means that if you want to become an artisan you will have to complete 4 four separate leadership (levels 1, 2, 3 &amp; 4). This meant that people entered the workplace with all the knowledge but none of the practical experience needed to do the job.<\/p>\n<p>Learnerships teach both the? why? and how to? by creating a contract between the learner, the learning provider, and the organization or business. All learnership contracts must be registered with the Sector Education Training Authority (SETA) for that specific industry, which guarantees that the learnership program is of a high standard.<\/p>\n<p>If accepted into a learnership you will have to sign two legal contracts; a Learnership Agreement and an Employment Contract. The Learnership Agreement tells you exactly what responsibilities you, the training provider and the employer have. The Employment Contract is only for the period of the learnership. Learnerships last between 12 -24 months.<\/p>\n<p>If you are unemployed, you will receive an allowance while you are on a learnership which is meant to cover costs like travel and food. If you are already employed you will only receive your normal salary.<\/p>\n<p>During the learnership, you will spend a certain period in a classroom, either at the company or organization or at other premises, and the rest of the time working and learning on the job at the company.
