- If you have\u00a0completed the National Senior Certificate\u00a0or an equivalent school-leaving qualification this year, you will receive an SMS in February 2025 shortly after the results are announced,\u00a0confirming your firm offer<\/strong>.<\/li>\n

- You must accept the offer via SMS or on Self-Service within 3 days to secure your place<\/strong>.\u00a0Should you not do so, the offer will be withdrawn, and the place will be offered to another student. NO telephonic or email acceptances can be made. You may only accept one offer.<\/li>\n
- You may find that you have been placed on a waiting list or have a deferred status for your programme. As decision-making is an ongoing process, we will monitor the situation on a daily basis and notify you via SMS or on self-service once a firm offer is made.<\/li>\n

2. SETTLE THE FIRST FEE PAYMENT \/ CONFIRM YOUR BURSARY OR SCHOLARSHIP<\/strong><\/h3>\n

- First Payment:<\/strong>\n

- All self-funded students are required to make a\u00a0first fee payment<\/em>\u00a0towards fees BEFORE registration. This is a standard amount of R9340 that is applicable to all South African students.\u00a0 Students will not be able to register if this amount is not paid. Payments via EFT should be made 4 days in advance in order to clear before registration.<\/li>\n
- If you cannot make this payment by the time you register, you will be required to apply for a postponement to pay full fees by the end of April. Students can complete the postponement on the student\u00a0self-service portal<\/a>\u00a0and proceed immediately with Online Registration<\/li>\n
- You can only apply for a postponement if you have been offered, and have accepted, a place in a programme.<\/li>\n
- The first fee payment is not applicable if you:\n
- \n
- have been made a provisional offer for NSFAS funding for 2025;<\/li>\n
- have been given a full Wits University Scholarship;<\/li>\n
- fall within the funding threshold i.e. your family earnings are below R350 000 per annum. If you fall into this category,\u00a0you will be required to request a\u00a0postponement\u00a0of the first fee payment via the\u00a0<\/em>self-service portal<\/em><\/a>;<\/em><\/li>\n
- You can present proof to the Financial Aid and Scholarships Office that you have been awarded an external bursary or scholarship.<\/li>\n

3. REGISTER BEFORE THE DEADLINE<\/strong><\/h3>\n

- Registration is the process by which you formally enrol at the University. Most students can register online from home using the Self-Service Portal and are encouraged to register off-campus<\/strong>. Should you be unable to complete your registration online, or if you need assistance such as curriculum counselling, you may register on campus at Assisted Registration.<\/li>\n
- Each faculty has specific dates and deadlines for both Online and Assisted Registration (scroll down to view faculty dates). You must complete your registration within these times or your offer may be withdrawn. The University cannot guarantee a position for students who do not register on time.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

- Should you require parking, please apply for a Parking Permit on the self-service portal.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
- Should you be unable to register online, or if you have special requirements, you may register on campus at Assisted Registration on the specific dates for your Faculty (scroll down to view faculty dates).\u00a0 The Fees, Financial Aid & Scholarship Office, International Students Office, Faculty, and Student Enrolment Centre are available at Assisted Registration. You will also be able to collect your student card, parking permit, and goodie-bag at Assisted Registration. Remember to bring your ID document with you to Assisted Registration.<\/li>\n
- Once enrolled, you will be able to access more functionality on the Self-service Portal, such as proof of registration as well as your timetable.<\/li>\n
- Online Biographical Questionnaire:\u00a0<\/strong>Please complete this survey while registering on the self-service portal. The University collects biographical information\u00a0from all first-year undergraduate students to develop a better understanding of the financial, educational and social needs of our students. The information obtained from this questionnaire will assist the University in offering relevant and responsive support throughout your studies.\n

4. COLLECT YOUR STUDENT CARD, GOODIE-BAG AND PARKING PERMIT IF YOU REQUESTED PARKING<\/strong><\/h3>\n

- A registration goodie-bag from Hall 29 or from the Student Enrolment Centre after Registration Week.<\/li>\n
- Collect\u00a0or\u00a0your “Kudu” student card from any Kudu Card Office.\u00a0You are required to\u00a0provide\u00a0proof of identification, such as your ID document, valid passport or driver’s\u00a0licence<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
- Parking permit if parking is required. (Complete your application for parking on the self-service portal, and then collect your sticker from the Parking Office)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
5. ORIENTATION AND WELCOME DAY<\/strong><\/h3>\n
