<\/span>Arnold Vosloo Career<\/h2>\nVosloo began his acting career in the South African theatre where he won several Dalro Awards for his performances in such plays as Don Juan, Hamlet, and M\u00f4re is \u2018n Lang Dag (Tomorrow is a Long Day) and he quickly became a regular at Pretoria\u2019s State Theatre.<\/p>\n
After moving to the United States, he appeared in \u201cBorn In The R.S.A.\u201d at Chicago\u2019s Northlight Theatre and starred with\u00a0Al Pacino\u00a0and\u00a0Sheryl Lee\u00a0in a Circle In The Square Uptown production of \u201cSalome\u201d (his character\u2019s name was \u201cJokanaan\u201d). The latter running for a total of 18 performances only between June 28, 1992 and July 2, 1992.<\/p>\n
His American movie debut was in 1492: Conquest of Paradise (1992). He later appeared in the two less successful sequels to the 1990 film Darkman. He also starred in the John Woo film Hard Target, starring Jean-Claude Van Damme.<\/p>\n
Vosloo appeared in the title role of the 1999 movie The Mummy (starring Brendan Fraser), as well as its 2001 sequel, The Mummy Returns. In both films he played Imhotep, an ancient Egyptian high priest.<\/p>\n
In 2004, Vosloo returned to South Africa to make\u00a0Forgiveness<\/i>, about an ex-policeman who seeks out the family of the\u00a0anti-apartheid\u00a0activist\u00a0that he killed. He played mercenary Colonel Coetzee in the 2006 film\u00a0Blood Diamond<\/i>, which was partially filmed in South Africa.<\/p>\n
Vosloo has been involved in\u00a0video games: His likeness, as well as his\u00a0voice, was chosen for the main hero (Saul Myers) of video game\u00a0Boiling Point: Road to Hell<\/i>, published in summer of 2005 by\u00a0ATARI.<\/p>\n
