Willem Botha (born 17 April 1987)\u00a0is a South African singer, actor, music producer and presenter from Riversdale, Western Cape.<\/strong><\/p>\n

He was the runner-up of\u00a0Afrikaanse Idols<\/i> reality music programme and predominantly performs Afrikaans language songs.<\/p>\n

Botha has had an association with the\u00a0Eurovision Song Contest\u00a0since\u00a0Afrikaanse Idols<\/i>. In 2009, he released \u201cHi Hi Ho\u201d, also promoted as \u201cHi Hi Ho (Bokke Weergawe)\u201d (English: \u201cHi Hi Ho (Springbok version)\u201d)\u00a0<\/sup>as an Afrikaans adaptation of the\u00a0Latvian\u00a02008 Eurovision Song Contest\u00a0entry \u201cWolves of the Sea\u201d by\u00a0Pirates of the Sea, with the lyrics being adapted to support the\u00a0South Africa national rugby union team\u00a0(colloquially known as the Springboks).<\/sup><\/sup>Later that year he released his second album titled \u201cS\u00ea My Nou<\/i>\u201d which was nominated for the best Afrikaans\u00a0Sokkie Dans\u00a0album at the 16th\u00a0South African Music Awards.\u00a0<\/sup>In 2013, he helped to produce the 2013 Belarusian Eurovision entry \u201cSolayoh\u201d and was part of the performance act as one of Alyona Lanskaya\u2019s backing singers. This made him the first South African to perform at Eurovision.<\/section>\n
Botha made his acting debut in the Afrikaans language film\u00a0Liefling, Die Movie<\/i>\u00a0in 2010.\u00a0<\/sup>In 2013, he played his first television acting role in\u00a0Donkerland<\/i>.<\/p>\n
