<\/span>IIndman Career<\/h2>\n

From early 2007 he started taking his music into the\u00a0DAW\u00a0\u2013\u00a0FL Studio\u00a0to record songs while creating visual art as a hobby. In 2009 he began working with\u00a0Mo\u2019Molemi\u00a0on his album \u201cRebel Without a Pause\u201d where he produced the song Lefika-Town feat. Spikey of Lyv Records at 16 years of age. He began doing visual work with\u00a0AKA\u00a0of the I.V League for the South African\u00a0Hype Magazine\u00a0Hip Hop Awards.<\/p>\n

He also worked with Dreamteam on the\u00a0Blow Up<\/i>\u00a0Mixtape, dance crew \u2013 The Repertoires,\u00a0Chez Ntemba, LiquidChefs SA with Very Special Saturday hosted by Fifi Costello and DJ Sliqe, visual artworks for the\u00a0SAMA\u00a0Award Winning DJ Sliqe,\u00a0Kwesta, and\u00a0Da King of African Rap<\/i>\u00a0album art for\u00a0DaKAR II\u00a0in 2016. He has also worked in advertising and marketing visuals for South African music events including GoodSundae for Benny Maverick & DJ Feel and Groove Afrika events.<\/p>\n

Besides being a visual artist, he has been laying the foundation for the South African electronic music. A Mahikeng-born musical genius who set his sights on taking South African electronic music to another level. With releases dating back to 2013, he showed time and time again that he was undoubtedly ahead of his time.^{<\/sup><\/p>\n}

<\/span>Music<\/span><\/h3>\n

He began to work in\u00a0electronica, augmenting it with\u00a0abstract art\u00a0work.^{<\/sup>\u00a0In 2015 he released his debut electronic EP which\u00a0OkayAfrica\u00a0said \u201cIIndman\u2019s 6-track\u00a0La Bella Vita\u00a0<\/i>EP\u00a0is a crumbling tunnel of drum whips, muffled vocals, and scraped effects. Starting with the slow, key-floored title track and moving onto the choppy, percussion-based \u201cLemonade,\u201d the self-produced release only sees dim light with the fifth track \u201cNever Let You Down,\u201d a grand composition of strings that begins with a deep-voiced birthday wish.<\/sup>\u201d<\/p>\n}

Followed by single in the same year with Norwegian singer \u2013 Camilla Luna, it is said that he aims to blend ambient textures and lounge-y keyboard melodies together over drums and percussion in a manner reminiscent of\u00a0Flying Lotus\u00a0and\u00a0J Dilla, who IIndman lists as some of his musical influences.^{<\/sup>\u00a0He has also done a rework of ECHLN\u2019s song called \u2018Honey\u2019<\/sup>\u00a0which IIndman\u2019s music is unique and compelled music Singapore-based label \u2013 Darker Than Wax to take notice in 2017.<\/p>\n}

<\/span>Visuals<\/span><\/h3>\n

Kgaffe would log on to\u00a0Tumblr\u00a0where he received pictures and used them as a source of inspiration, experimenting on the computer, and started editing using\u00a0Microsoft Publisher\u00a0and\u00a0Microsoft Paint, designing posters and abstract art. In 2009 he began working in\u00a0Adobe Photoshop, creating images with an urban-vintage tone in a dark futuristic environment.^{<\/sup><\/p>\n}

He used the internet to connect with more people, clients and sources of artistic inspiration. He is also inspired by visual artists such as\u00a0Mark Ryden,\u00a0James Turrell, Oleg Dou,\u00a0Sara Golish,\u00a0Vanessa Beecroft, Marcel Van Der Vlugt, Amy Judd and\u00a0Ruud van Empel.<\/p>\n
