Newmont\u2019s industry leading performance is reflected through our Africa operations\u2019 high standards in environmental management, health and safety for our workforce and creating value and opportunity for our employees, host communities and Newmont\u2019s shareholders.<\/p>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<h2>Purpose<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>To conduct electrical maintenance, deployment, troubleshooting, replacement, repair, and testing of electrical equipment and systems on drills, shovels, and support equipment, according to electrical codes, OEM specifications and safety standards to ensure equipment availability and optimal mining operations and production.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<h2>Essential Duties<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>Perform routine maintenance on all electrical equipment and ensure effective functioning, including but not limited to maintenance of drills, shovel, and support equipment.<\/li>\n<li>Accomplish work objectives by determining own work schedule, coordinate with support services.<\/li>\n<li>Perform installations, maintenance, and repair activities, in accordance with OEM specifications.<\/li>\n<li>Check that daily and rotational quality targets are achieved, including First Stop After PM (FSAPM), Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) and Mean Time To Repairs (MTTR).<\/li>\n<li>Check all malfunctioned electrical systems and conduct root cause analysis in order to diagnose whether to repair or replace.<\/li>\n<li>Analyze specified problems and issues to find the best technical solutions within OEM specifications and in accordance with local codes.<\/li>\n<li>Produce daily reports indicating the jobs for the day and submit the report to the Supervisor.<\/li>\n<li>Deliver own prescribed outcomes and \/ or provide support services, by applying Newmont\u2019s Health, Safety and Environment systems, policies and protocols.<\/li>\n<li>Inspect the equipment to check and identify any mechanical and basic electrical risks.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<h2>Training &amp; Experience<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Formal Qualification (including Professional Registrations):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Electrical Engineering Technician certificate.<\/li>\n<li>Electrical Trade training, apprenticeship.<\/li>\n<li>MINCOM certified as Inspection Engineer as an advantage<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Additional Knowledge:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Advanced knowledge of mechanical maintenance principles and industry standards.<\/li>\n<li>Advanced knowledge and experience of maintaining Drills. Shovels and support equipment.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of the work management process.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of planning and scheduling.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of CMMS\/ERP<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Experience:<\/p>\n<p>Minimum of 3 years\u2019 electrical maintenance experience in a mining equipment maintenance, preferably repairing and maintaining drills, shovels, and support equipment.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<h2>Working Conditions<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Position is in a very remote location.
