This is a scheme for scientists in the UK who are at an early stage in their career or returning from a career break and want to purchase specialised equipment and consumables.<\/p>\n<p>The scheme provides \u2018seed corn\u2019 funding for new projects of timeliness and promise. The objective of the scheme is to increase the availability of specialised equipment and essential consumable materials, and to support essential field research.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Funding<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The scheme provides up to \u00a320,000 of funding for 12 months, covering:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Equipment;<\/li>\n<li>Consumables;<\/li>\n<li>Travel expenses and subsistence for essential field research.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Eligibility<\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"12e8abe62ae64b91c0bfbd6c80849a4d\" data-index=\"4\"><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Your research must be within the Royal Society\u2019s remit of natural sciences, which includes but is not limited to biological research, chemistry, engineering, mathematics and physics.<\/li>\n<li>Hold a PhD or equivalent qualification;<\/li>\n<li>You are based at an eligible UK organisation and a UK resident at the time of application;<\/li>\n<li>Are within the first five consecutive years of an independent research post, at the time of application.
