{"id":8927,"date":"2022-01-18T02:19:19","date_gmt":"2022-01-18T02:19:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/southafricaportal.com\/?p=8927"},"modified":"2022-01-18T09:44:31","modified_gmt":"2022-01-18T09:44:31","slug":"bsof-inclusive-youth-entrepreneurship-program-award","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/southafricaportal.com\/bsof-inclusive-youth-entrepreneurship-program-award\/","title":{"rendered":"Apply for BSOF Inclusive Youth Entrepreneurship Program Award 2022"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><strong>How to Apply for BSOF Inclusive Youth Entrepreneurship Program Award<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Apply for\u00a0<strong>VLIR-UOS scholarship<\/strong>\u00a0to attend an International Training Programme on \u201cSustainable Development and Global Justice\u201d (SUSTJUSTICE) run by the Law and Development Research Group of Antwerp University from 10 February to 30 April 2022.\u00a0SUSTJUSTICE is a full-time\u00a0post-graduate certificate programme that\u00a0offers a comprehensive teaching programme based on the research lines of the Law and Development Research Group.<br \/>\nThe training brings together a diverse group of leading experts from the North and South to introduce salient features of their disciplines, and to engage students in understanding and reflecting on key challenges for sustainable development and global justice. The postgraduate programme runs in conjunction with the Faculty\u2019s Master of Laws (LL.M).<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p><strong>Benefits<\/strong><br \/>\nVLIR-UOS supports the programme with 12 scholarships for participants from the global South.<br \/>\n<strong>Eligibility<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>SUSTJUSTICE attracts lawyers, scholars, and practitioners of demonstrated intellectual and academic excellence from all over the world.<\/li>\n<li>The programme enrolls outstanding students representing countries from the North and the South with a broad variety of backgrounds, legal interests and career plans.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You can only apply for an ITP scholarship if you meet the following requirements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Nationality and country of residence:<\/strong>\u00a0A candidate should be both a national and a resident of one of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.vliruos.be\/en\/countries\/96\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">31 eligible countries<\/a>\u00a0(not necessarily the same country) at the time of the application.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Relevant professional experience and a support letter:<\/strong>\u00a0Priority is given to candidates who are employed in academic institutions, research institutes, governments, the social economy or NGOs, or to those who aim to have a career in one of these sectors. The training candidate should have relevant professional experience and a support letter confirming (re)integration in a professional context where the acquired knowledge and skills will be immediately applicable.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Fungibility with other VLIR-UOS funding:<\/strong>\u00a0Candidates who are working at a university where we already fund IUC, TEAM or SI projects, can receive an ITP-ICP scholarship if they clearly motivate the reason for their application and if they clarify why the participation at the ICP or ITP programme cannot be funded as part of the IUC, TEAM or SI programme or project funds that already exist.<\/li>\n<li><strong>\u00a0Other VLIR-UOS scholarship applications and previously awarded scholarships:\u00a0<\/strong>A potential candidate can only submit one scholarship application with us per year \u2013 irrespective of the scholarship type \u2013 and can, therefore, only be selected for one VLIR-UOS scholarship every year. Candidates who already received one of our scholarships to participate in another ITP, will not be eligible. Candidates who already received one of our scholarship to participate in an ICP\u00a0(or vice versa) can only be selected if the previously attended course is thematically linked to the ITP.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Academic Requirements:<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>SUSTJUSTICE\u00a0is a post-graduate level programme and the\u00a0<strong>completion of bachelor-level education is an entry requirement<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Participants will be selected on the basis of their\u00a0<strong>previous and current studies or practice<\/strong>\u00a0(attesting to a basic knowledge of human rights and international law) as well as their\u00a0<strong>demonstrated interest\u00a0<\/strong>as attested by a\u00a0personal statement of motivation\u00a0addressing how they envisage the ITP to impact their professional life, career development as well as their current institution and the societies in which they live.<\/li>\n<li>The applicants will also be asked to provide\u00a0<strong>a\u00a0letter of recommendation<\/strong>\u00a0from their current or former institution.<\/li>\n<li>Scholarship applicants should be employed at the time of selection and will be asked to provide a proof of employment and a\u00a0<strong>letter\u00a0<\/strong>from their\u00a0current employer confirming re-integration in a professional context after the completion of the programme.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>English proficiency:<\/p>\n<div class=\"contents\">\n<ul>\n<li>Since the programme is taught in English, all applicants must be able to read with ease, follow lectures and express their thoughts in fluent written and spoken English. For students whose first language is not English, either of the following qualifications will meet the English language requirement\u00a0for entry to the programme*:<\/li>\n<li>Test Scores:\u00a0<strong>TOEFL<\/strong>\u00a0(Test of English as a Foreign Language): paper-based TOEFL level of minimum 550, or a computer-based TOEFL level of minimum 213, or an internet-based\u00a0TOEFL level of minimum 79-80 or\u00a0<strong>IELTS<\/strong>\u00a0(International English Language Testing System): a minimum score of at least 6.5, and on each part minimum 6.0<\/li>\n<li><strong>Proof of Study<\/strong>: Submitting proof they have studied at least one academic year (or 60 ECTS credits) in an English-language Bachelor or Master programme.
