The British Council is looking for the latest and most innovative resources to learn and teach English, across the full breadth of media (non-digital or digital) and from a wide variety of contexts worldwide.<br \/>\nIf you\u2019re an educator in a low-resource context, a member of an international team or organisation \u2013 large or small \u2013 or an author or entrepreneur flying solo, they want to hear from you. If you\u2019ve been involved in the creation of new resources in support of high quality English language education in the last two years, make your submission to the\u00a0ELTons Innovation Awards 2020.<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p><strong>Categories<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Excellence in course innovation:<\/strong>\u00a0Courses using a fresh variety of content, formats or media, to help learners achieve stretching levels of English language proficiency.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Innovation in teacher resources:<\/strong>\u00a0Resources supporting English language teaching professionals, whether through teacher training, education, or continuing professional development.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Innovation in learner resources:<\/strong>\u00a0Services, activities, materials or works using innovative means to improve English language learners\u2019 proficiency in vocabulary, grammar, fluency, receptive and productive skills, or vital language skills for study, life and\/or work.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Digital innovation:<\/strong>\u00a0Use of digital technology or media \u2013 cutting edge technologies, or original use of existing technology \u2013 to benefit high-quality English language learning.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Local innovation (in partnership with Cambridge Assessment English):<\/strong>\u00a0Resources or projects innovating to meet specific, local needs, within local, national or regional contexts around the world.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Eligibility<\/strong><\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>The British Council is committed to making sure the ELTons Innovation Awards are inclusive and reflect the broad diversity of English language education around the world.<br \/>\nThey welcome and encourage applications from all backgrounds, including from:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Those who speak English as a second or other language.<\/li>\n<li>Diverse nationalities and ethnicities.<\/li>\n<li>Low-resource as well as better resourced contexts.<\/li>\n<li>Across the regional\/rural and urban divide.<\/li>\n<li>Disabled applicants, as well as those developing resources for disabled learners and teachers.<\/li>\n<li>They also wish to see good gender balance among applicants.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Application<\/strong><br \/>\nPlease submit your\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/englishagenda.britishcouncil.org\/sites\/default\/files\/attachments\/eltons_2020_application_form.docx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">application form<\/a>\u00a0electronically to\u00a0<strong>ELTons@britishcouncil.org<\/strong>\u00a0by November 8, 2019.<br \/>\nTo complete your application you must send one copy of your product to the address below and\/or send a digital copy to\u00a0<strong>ELTons@britishcouncil.org<\/strong>\u00a0for product samples submitted digitally.
