All Eligible and Interested applicants may apply online for this opportunity before the application deadline-closing date.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>NOTE:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Don\u2019t forget that\u00a0<b>Virtual PDE<\/b>\u00a0application is totally free of charge<\/li>\n<li>Don\u2019t send anyone money for this opportunity.<\/li>\n<li>Beware of Fraudsters!!!!<\/li>\n<li>Subscribe to our notification list with your email to receive the Latest Opportunities Update.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>Details of Virtual PDE<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>The U.S. Department of State and IREX<\/strong>\u00a0are excited to announce\u00a0that the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.surveygizmo.com\/s3\/6457871\/2022-Spring-Virtual-PDE-Application\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">application<\/a>\u00a0for\u00a0the\u00a0<strong>Spring 2022 Virtual\u00a0Professional Development Experience\u00a0(PDE),\u00a0<\/strong>a unique opportunity only open to\u00a0<strong>2021 Alumni of the\u00a0Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders<\/strong>, is now open.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Virtual PDE<\/strong> is designed to\u00a0provide\u00a0Fellows\u00a0with\u00a0practical training and the opportunity\u00a0to learn transferable skills, expand their professional networks, and apply concepts learned at their Institutes to real-world situations in the U.S. context through a six-week professional placement with a U.S. NGO, business, or government agency.\u00a0 The 2022 Virtual PDEs will\u00a0maintain the Fellowship\u2019s goals and high standards through a flexible, accessible, and robust virtual model.\u00a0\u00a0Virtual\u00a0PDEs\u00a0will include a combination of synchronous (life) and asynchronous (on\u00a0Fellows\u2019\u00a0own time)\u00a0work, along with virtual networking and other professional development opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>Virtual PDEs will take place in a six-week timeframe from\u00a0<strong>January 31\u00a0<\/strong>to\u00a0<strong>March 11, 2022<\/strong>.\u00a0\u00a0Fellows must plan their schedules to accommodate synchronous (live) activities agreed upon with their PDE\u00a0Host, but\u00a0will not need to take a leave of absence from work\u00a0in order to\u00a0fully participate.\u00a0 Fellows should expect to commit an average of approximately 10-15 hours per week to the PDE.\u00a0 Fellows will receive a $600 participation stipend to offset costs for technology and other needs that support Fellows\u2019 ability to fully participate in the PDE.<\/p>\n<p>While Fellows will participate in the PDEs from their home communities, they will be able to engage with their peers across the continent.\u00a0 Structured programming elements will allow Fellows to\u00a0develop strong ties within their\u00a0PDE\u00a0cohort\u00a0and\u00a0engage with Fellows\u00a0and Hosts\u00a0with similar\u00a0sector\u00a0interests.\u00a0 Applicants\u00a0must belong to the 2021 cohort\u00a0of the Mandela Washington Fellowship\u00a0and\u00a0cannot be\u00a0a participant\u00a0in the 2021\u00a0round of Virtual\u00a0PDEs taking place from August 9 to September 17, 2021.\u00a0 Eligible 2021 Fellows must\u00a0also have successfully completed their\u00a02021 Leadership Institute\u00a0by September 30, 2021.
