All Eligible and Interested applicants may apply online for this opportunity before the application deadline-closing date.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>NOTE:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Don\u2019t forget that\u00a0<b>Hong Kong PhD<\/b>\u00a0application is totally free of charge<\/li>\n<li>Don\u2019t send anyone money for this opportunity.<\/li>\n<li>Beware of Fraudsters!!!!<\/li>\n<li>Subscribe to our notification list with your email to receive the Latest Opportunities Updates.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>Details of Hong Kong PhD Fellowship<\/strong><\/h2>\n<div class=\"td-post-content tagdiv-type\">\n<p>Established by the<strong>\u00a0Research Grants Council (RGC) of Hong Kong<\/strong>\u00a0in 2009, the<strong>\u00a0Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme (HKPFS)<\/strong>\u00a0aims at attracting the best and brightest students in the world to pursue their PhD studies in Hong Kong\u2019s universities.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Eligibility<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Candidates who are seeking admission as new full-time PhD students in the following eight universities, irrespective of their country of origin, prior work experience and ethnic background, should be eligible to apply.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>City University of Hong Kong<\/li>\n<li>Hong Kong Baptist University<\/li>\n<li>Lingnan University<\/li>\n<li>The Chinese University of Hong Kong<\/li>\n<li>The Education University of Hong Kong<\/li>\n<li>The Hong Kong Polytechnic University<\/li>\n<li>The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology<\/li>\n<li>The University of Hong Kong<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Applicants should demonstrate outstanding qualities of academic performance, research ability \/ potential, communication and interpersonal skills, and leadership abilities.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Fellowship Award<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>The Fellowship provides an annual stipend of HK$331,200 (approximately US$42,460) and a conference and research-related travel allowance of HK$13,800 (approximately US$1,760) per year for each awardee for a period of up to three years. 300 PhD Fellowships will be awarded in the 2024\/25 academic year*. For awardees who need more than three years to complete the PhD degree, additional support may be provided by the chosen universities. For details, please contact the universities concerned directly.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>* Universities in Hong Kong normally start their academic year in September.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Selection Criteria<\/h3>\n<p>While candidates\u2019 academic excellence is of primary consideration, the Selection Panels will take into account factors as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Academic excellence;<\/li>\n<li>Research ability and potential;<\/li>\n<li>Communication and interpersonal skills; and<\/li>\n<li>Leadership abilities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>How to Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Eligible candidates should first make an\u00a0<strong>Initial Application<\/strong>\u00a0online through the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme Electronic System (HKPFSES) to obtain an\u00a0<strong>HKPFS Reference Number<\/strong>\u00a0by\u00a0<strong>1 December 2023 at Hong Kong Time 12:00:00\u00a0<\/strong>before submitting applications for PhD admission to their desired universities.<\/li>\n<li>Applicants may choose up to two programmes\/departments at one or two universities for PhD study under HKPFS 2024\/25.
