All Eligible and Interested applicants may apply online for this opportunity before the application deadline-closing date.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>NOTE:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Don\u2019t forget that\u00a0<b>IUCEA<\/b>\u00a0application is totally free of charge<\/li>\n<li>Don\u2019t send anyone money for this opportunity.<\/li>\n<li>Beware of Fraudsters!!!!<\/li>\n<li>Subscribe to our notification list with your email to receive the Latest Opportunities Update.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong>Details of IUCEA<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>IUCEA\u00a0hereby invites suitably qualified nationals of the\u00a0<strong>East African Community (EAC)\u00a0<\/strong>to apply for cohort 3 of the\u00a0<strong>KfW- funded Scholarships,<\/strong>\u00a0to pursue Master\u2019s studies in the EAC Partner State other than their own.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The EAC Scholarship Programme\u00a0<\/strong>is an initiative of the East African Community (EAC) and the Federal Republic of Germany. The project begun in 2018 when the EAC Secretariat and Inter-University Council for East Africa (IUCEA) entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with KfW (German Development Bank) geared towards the training of students within the EAC Region. This Project aims at creating future change agents, who identify themselves with the integration agenda of the EAC and are willing to share economic and development-oriented expert knowledge.<\/p>\n<p>The goal of this initiative is to contribute towards training leaders that will foster the EAC Regional integration. This goal will be partly achieved through the establishment of academic collaboration between universities\/institutions within the EAC Region, by<br \/>\nencouraging students to study in countries other than their own. In order to achieve these impacts, the project offers a comprehensive package including scholarships for Master\u2019s programmes, internships, mentoring, networking events and further leadership training activities.<\/p>\n<p>The scholarship will support Master\u2019s students in<br \/>\nI) Mathematics, ii) Engineering, iii) Informatics, iv) Science, v) Technology and vi)Business Science programmes.<br \/>\nThe students are required to apply to study in another EAC country (not their country of origin).<\/p>\n<p>ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA<br \/>\nThe minimum requirements for qualification into the Programme are:<br \/>\na) Be a national of a partner state of the East African Community;<br \/>\nb) Be below 35 years of age at the time of application<br \/>\nc) Possess at least an equivalent of Upper Second-Class Honours or \u201cDistinction\u201d as applicable;<br \/>\nd) Have obtained admission from a university in another country of the EAC Region other than their own.<br \/>\ne) Submit a motivation letter in English (with not more than 500 words) as follows:<br \/>\n\u2713 Well written (grammatically and professionally)<br \/>\n\u2713 Demonstrates a convincing motivation for wanting to pursue the Master\u2019s Programme chosen<br \/>\n\u2713 Adequately demonstrates the applicant\u2019s foreseen professional engagement in EAC Integration agenda after completing the<br \/>\nMaster\u2019s Programme<br \/>\n\u2713 Demonstrates how they expect to apply the acquired skills and knowledge from the Master\u2019s Programme to contribute to the EAC<br \/>\nIntegration Agenda<br \/>\n\u2713 Demonstrates where they anticipate seeing themselves professionally and academically in 5 and 10 years.<br \/>\nNote: This has to be one typed letter for each programme and converted to PDF.<\/p>\n<p>SCHOLARSHIP PACKAGE<br \/>\nUp to 63 scholarships are available in the 2021\/2022 academic year.<br \/>\nThe scholarship covers the following:<br \/>\na) Return economy air ticket between the candidate\u2019s home and host countries<br \/>\nb) University tuition fees: payable directly to the university against official invoice;<br \/>\nc) Stipend: EUR380 per month to support living expenses including housing,<br \/>\nfood, utilities, local transportation and settlement expenses;<br \/>\nd) Allowances for study materials and research: EUR 1,500 one- off allowance;<br \/>\ne) Medical insurance; and<br \/>\nf) Extracurricular events: at least one event per year.<\/p>\n<p>APPLICATION PROCESS<br \/>\nThe application process is two-fold and each MUST be completed separately<br \/>\n1) Application for admission to the university;<br \/>\nStep 1: Identify the programme and University of their choice from section 4 above that contains Eligible Programmes;<br \/>\nStep 2: Fill the application form for admission to the university of choice (this can be found on the university website).
