Apprenticeship Overview

You will work at AFGRI branches across South Africa. The program lasts three years, but it can go up to four. It starts with a six-month probation period where both you and the company check if it’s a good fit.

Programme Details

There are 40 positions open under reference number AO-2345. You can train as a Tractor Mechanic or Earthmoving Mechanic. Training comes from AgriSETA and merSETA, two key industry bodies.

The program covers practical skills and theory. You attend training centers when needed and do some distance learning. AFGRI experts also provide product and technical training.

Minimum Requirements

To apply, you need a Grade 12 certificate with English and Mathematics or Technical Mathematics. Math Literacy does not count. A valid driver’s license is required, along with basic computer skills.

Good communication and admin skills help too. Subjects like Physical Science, Engineering Graphics & Design, Diesel Trade Theory, or Motor Trade Theory give you an edge.
