What the Amazon Bursary Offers
The bursary provides financial support to help students complete their studies. It can cover costs up to an approved capped amount, including tuition fees, stationery, and textbooks. It may also assist with the cost of a personal computer, university residence accommodation, private accommodation, transport, and general living expenses.
Paid Internship Opportunity
A key benefit of this bursary is the paid Amazon internship that recipients will undertake during their summer vacation. This internship is designed to provide valuable workplace experience, allowing students to work on meaningful projects. It offers exposure to Amazon teams and their working environments, helping to develop technical and professional skills.
The internship also provides access to training opportunities and serves as an assessment period for Amazon to evaluate students for potential full-time employment after graduation.
Potential Employment After Graduation
Bursary recipients may be considered for full-time employment as Software Development Engineers once they have completed their studies and internship. If a suitable position is available, recipients might be required to work for Amazon for a period equivalent to the duration of the funding they received.
