Ensure legal compliance of all equipment on site according to OHSAct 85 of 1993
Assessment of high level risks in the organization and development and execution if mitigation programs to reduce the risk
Develop and implement medium and long term strategies to improve engineering availability
Development and management of planned and unplanned maintenance programs on site
Creation of policies and procedures relating to engineering functions
Create and manage the site maintenance, utility and capital budgets
Manage the life cycle of assets including upgrades and replacements
Upgrading and automation of process equipment line
Management of production development
Provide a supporting role in production
Manage production projects
Manage capital expenditure on site, including the allocation of funds to the most feasible projects, the planning of the capital budgets, the adherence to cash flow forecasts and the successful execution of all projects
Manage the design office, ensuring design requests are executed in accordance with business priorities and according to the relevant standards.
Management of service related contracts
Responsible for cost control
Evaluation of plant capacity and equipment performance
Management of utilities on site including Electricity, Water, compressed air and various industrial gasses
BEng/BSc Mechanical Engineering Degree is essential
Government certificate of competence is advantageous
8 – 10 years’ experience within a similar role in a production/manufacturing/FMCG environment
