Anglo American Fitter Vacancy Application Details
We’re looking for a strong and self-driven Fitter who is great in applying logic as well as problem solving, to join our Rock Shovel space. An individual who can perform under great pressure in maximising equipment reliability and availability. Could you be one of them?

Kumba Iron Ore
We produce high-grade iron ore, the key component in steel widely used in construction and manufacturing across the world. Our activities include all aspects – exploration; mining; processing and blending; shipping; marketing and selling. In South Africa, we have mining operations in the Northern Cape province, as well as a head office in Centurion, Gauteng, and a port operation in Saldanha Bay, Western Cape.
To perform maintenance in Rope Shovels, ensuring the assembling of components and assisting RRT with breakdowns by:
- Having knowledge in maintenance of Rope Shovels
- Having knowledge of Forklift, Truck Mounted Crane & Overhead Crane
- Having knowledge of Lubrication
- Ensuring that equipment is always in a neat and working condition
- Having knowledge in Plant Engineering
- Relieving the Foreman when required
- Being required to work shifts
- Minimizing operational downtime due to unscheduled and unplanned events or incidents
This role is in the Engineering department on a Band 8 and reporting to Supervisor: Engineering
You will be required to have the following:
- Grade 12/Technical Matric
- N2 Engineering Qualification
- Trade Certificate (Fitter)
- 2-5 years’ experience
- Product Range experience will be advantageous
- Relevant Fitter experience
- Valid Driver’s license code 10
- Valid fitness certificate
You will be required to have the following:
