Here is an exciting opportunity for you to join our Platinum Business as a Shaft Foreman where you will have a legal responsibility for supervision of the vertical shaft as part of the logistics process.

This is a legal appointment in terms of the 2.9.2 or 2.15.1 MHSA, Act 26 of 1996.

The focus areas for this role will be to:

• Ensure effective operation and supervision of the vertical shaft during a shift, regarding maintenance, availability equipment and infrastructure to optimize performance.
• Ensure effective movement of people, materials and ore to support operational performance and safety including allocating work schedules to subordinates.
• Ensure that operating standards, procedures and safety standards are adhered to, applied and understood by the team including completion of legislated reports and registers.
• Monitor contractor work in area and assist during breakdowns or emergencies and complete safety, injury, hazard, risk and incident reports for the area.

This role is in the Mining department at a C5 level reporting to the Mine Overseer.

You will be required to have: 

• Grade 12.
• Blasting Certificate is required.
• Onsetter Certificate is required.
• Certificate: ABC for Engineering or ABC for Mining will be advantageous.
• Basic Computer literacy in Microsoft Office is required.

Knowledge, skills and experience required: 

• 3 years relevant experience within a UG Mining (Mechanized and conventional) environment is required.
