Programme Duration and Location

The internship programme will run for a period of up to 18 months. Successful candidates will be placed at 75 Helen Joseph Street, Old Mutual Building, Johannesburg.

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this internship, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Completed Grade 12 (Matric) at NQF Level 4.
  • Currently studying towards or have completed a Degree or Diploma in Accounting or a related field.
  • Your relevant qualification should be at NQF Level 6 or 7.
  • No previous work experience is required.
  • You must be a resident of the City of Johannesburg.
  • You must not have participated in a previous internship programme, unless it was unrelated to your field of study.

Competencies Required

Successful applicants should possess the following skills and abilities:

  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Accuracy in arithmetic and financial calculations
  • Good analytical skills
  • Ability to work with financial information
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work within established policies and procedures

A knowledge or understanding of Generally Recognised Accounting Practice (GRAP) standards and Municipal Finance Management Act (MFMA) requirements is also beneficial.
